Fic stuff.

... Wow, I have two h/c related tags. I didn't remember I even had one. XD; Why don't I use those tags for my blurbs? Most of them would fit.

I had an odd urge to re-read my recent Monkees fanfics at the beginning of last week. So I did. Gosh, I could have gotten entire scenes out of the parts I summarized! XD; But aside from that, and aside from not having delved into the Monkees' characters as much as I could have, I still quite like them. I kinda want to go back and re-write at least The Return of Baby Face Morales and flesh things out. Seeing all those summarized parts made me cringe. I really dread summarizing anything now, and I struggle with the decision the few times I decide it really is best.

I actually decided to put Baby Face and his gang in my most recent Carmen Sandiego fic, Falling Down Like Dominoes. It happened because I was describing what was stolen, and since I'd just re-read my Monkees fics, I put that the DeWitt jewel collection had been purloined. Then I shrugged and thought, Let it be the same DeWitt collection and Baby Face wants to steal it again too. So they ended up in it, though Baby Face and Ruby are the only ones who were named. It was amusing and interesting writing for them another time. I think I still have the touch.

I'm one fic shy of finishing my Carmen Sandiego 10 H/C claim. X3 Then I already have two more tables waiting in the wings. I love that comm! I'm so glad they started adding many tables, because the original one didn't inspire me too much. XD; And there's so many possible prompts one can use for H/C fics. Just one table is not nearly enough! It's definitely a comm after my own heart. Friendship h/c for the win!

For that one fic left, I've just started chapter 4. I'm not sure how many chapters it'll end up being. But I'm really excited to write it all for another reason, too---it'll be my first complete multi-chapter disaster fic. Then I'm hoping I can go back and tackle that FF7 earthquake fic.

More Blurbness

I have had trouble sleeping the past week, and I had a suspicion as to why. Now it's been confirmed. Blurgh. **beats cramping with the Golf Club of DOOOM.**

I saw the Detective Conan two-parter that introduces the Kaitou Kid. XD It was great. I'm impressed with his disguise skills. And I read that he became the Kaitou Kid because he's trying to solve the mystery of his father's death. Fascinating. X3

I wonder what would happen if Baby Face-tachi ever met up with Gin and the Black Organization. I picture the latter as possibly having ties to the Syndicate. It might be an interesting thing to toy with.

And no doubt about it, Gin is a very good-looking man. XD; I wish something more was known about him. Hamda says that no one in the Black Organization has a lot of background info, except perhaps Sherry.

Here's the rest of the blurb. XD The first draft is now completed, and so I shall ponder over what, if anything, I should add.

Blurb

I had a weird dream earlier, and it inspired this strange, dark, and angsty mobster blurb. XD This is unfinished, but I was curious to see what would be thought of it so I decided to post what there is before I must scamper off to watch the last Twelve Kingdoms DVD! It has to go back later today, so I must watch it all now. XD

It's amusing, this was supposed to be narrated by Ruby, but when I started writing it, Tony decided he wanted to speak.

Blurb

I took 51 screencaps from the Knight Rider episode. XD; I was surprised, but eh. There were lots of ones I wanted. Jimmy did a lot of those classic expressions throughout the episode. I have them all up on the site now.

And I drew a picture earlier of Baby Face holding an injured Ruby and looking furious, and it inspired the following blurb, which will probably become the beginning for that story that will eventually involve the balcony fiasco. Comments are appreciated!

Beta Set

Heh, well, this figures: I hit another snag in Prisms, so while I was trying to sort that out I ended up typing out all the rest of the Beta Theme Set. XD Now I have even more plot bunnies. I must do fics based on #9 and #12, and the little saga depicted in #14, #19, #30, #32, #49, and #50.

And holy cats, I'm absolutely certain I spotted Jimmy as an extra during one of the songs in The Desert Song. If I'd had a closer view of the guy I'd be positive, but it sure as heck looked just like him from what I could see! The time period would be about right, it was made in 1953, and the earliest known role of his was 1954, guest-starring on the Annie Oakley TV show.

Aubrie made me a lovely little mobster colorbar in return for me writing a testimonial for her. X3 I love it. **pets it.**

And I discovered that I can't write the bio for the home school graduates newsletter thing! **laughs.** I can only really talk about myself in that kind of a thing when describing what I like and don't like and why, so I'm recruiting Mom to write some of the other stuff. XD;

Blurgh.

My monitor had a heart attack! Now it won't turn on. It acts like it's stuck in sleep mode. I'll have to see if any of my relatives have a monitor I can use, or maybe I'll have to see if there's any at the local DIs. I don't have the money to pay for a brand new one.

The day wasn't a complete annoyance, though! I finally tried the DVD player in Dad's computer, and it works! And thanks to the Blaze DVD program Aubrie sent, I can take screengrabs! I went nuts capping from Alias Micky Dolenz (mostly of the gangsters) and I think I'll put them on my website. Meanwhile, I've also made a few random icons.

Not too many this time around, but I'll get more ideas as time goes on. Now I'm going to get the Mister Roberts DVD and cap a picture or two from Jimmy's performance in that.

Theme set

I've been wanting to try one of the 1sentence community's theme sets with Baby Face and Ruby, just for fun. I didn't see any point in joining the community, since I'm not a romance buff in general and since they most likely wouldn't be familiar with my pairing, so I just wrote it up in Wordpad and don't intend to take it there. But I'll post it here. ^^ I used the Epsilon set, and I actually ended up with a couple of plot bunnies, which I imagine is the idea behind the concept.
