Writer's Block: Love songs

Hmm.... Negative is a lot easier for me to think of at the moment. I've never liked How Do I Live, by various people. It bugs me to the nth degree. "How do I live without you? How do I breathe without you?" What. Seriously, it's not healthy one bit to feel like that about anyone, romantic or platonic. You've got to learn to love life and living even if you can't be with one particular person. If you don't feel like you can breathe, honey, you've got a big problem. (You know, I think if that one line wasn't in the song, I might be more indifferent to it or just roll my eyes at it.)

Positive.... Bryan Adams has sung some beautiful love songs, but at the moment I can't think of any because my mind is too full of his platonic songs. **particularly squeeing over that Brothers song.** Though I guess I Will Always Return is probably meant to be romantic? I'm not sure why I always think of his songs when I think of romantic songs (especially when I can barely single any out at the moment). Something about them seemed so deep to me.

Of course, Rockapella has sung some beautiful romantic songs. And when I want the titles, they escape me too. -.- **thinks.** I Walk With You.... I Know Christmas (I know it was dedicated to Scott's son, but it seemed to be about his wife, too).... They have special meaning to me because they're sung by people I've loved since I was four. And the lyrics and melodies are gorgeous.

**yawns.** Okay, talking about romance is boring me. Let's move on to something more interesting.

Well, it's a lovely and cloudy Valentine's Day. The holiday isn't dawning exactly as I'd hoped, and I'm even more disappointed by the realization that I can't be excited for the mail on Monday. Gah, President's Day. Why do these minor, mail-stopping holidays always get in the way of me getting stuff in the mail? Seriously, I always hope that stuff I'm waiting for will come before the holidays and they rarely, if ever, do. I certainly don't have good luck with plushies coming before them. There's been two plushies over Labor Day, for instance. Neither arrived for it. (Of course, they didn't come the day after, either, so even if it had been a mail day, there wouldn't have been any luck. But just ... a mail day is always something to anticipate when you're waiting for something. If you know there won't be any mail to begin with, there goes the mail anticipation for that day.) And this isn't a minor holiday (for me, anyway), and of course mail would be stopped on the day anyway, even if it wasn't a holiday, but another plushie was due around Easter. I hoped he'd come before it, but he didn't. However, he came the very day after. X3

**flicks President's Day.** I wish it was next week. It would be a lot more interesting to me if we actually did something for it. I admit I'd be more interested in New Year's if that was the case then, too.

Even so, I'm excited for Valentine's Day anyway. I have artwork plans for today! And fics and blurbs to sort out! I didn't get that silly thing about Bakura written; instead I posted that Duke/Serenity thing I've had kicking around since November. But I'd still like to write the Bakura thing, just because it would be so amusing---Bakura running home to Yami Bakura in horror after a nightmarish experience at the school dance with all the girls fighting over dancing with him. LOLOLOL. **imagines it turned into quite the brawl.**

And I'm sure I'll enjoy myself tomorrow. I just felt the need to rant.

Hmm... the only sweet, romantic Bryan Adams song I can think of is "Heaven." There are other romantic songs, but they all seem to have some sort of innuendos. **glares at them** -.- There is one interesting Bryan Adams non-romantic song (or, at least, that's how I interpret it; it's very, very ambiguous); it's called "In the Heat of the Night," and it keeps making me think of Joey's struggle with Hirutani in the manga **has thought that for years**. http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/bryan+adams/heat+of+the+night_20025469.html

**hugs Rockapella's romantic songs** You know why the titles escape us? It's because we twist them to as platonic as we possibly can. XD; **I'm almost certain that "When You Came" is meant to be romantic, but...) But, yes, there's "I Walk With You," and... "Diamonds" is a fun, romantic-esque song... "Ellie My Love," "I Found Sugar," "Come My Way," and... I think "My Home" is meant to be romantic, but we totally interpreted it to the very reaches of platonicism. XD

Bleh at stuff shutting down for President's Day. So unfair-- I'm still going to class tomorrow. -.-

It's a pretty popular song; I have the sheet music for it in a big book. One of my other friends likes it a lot, but it makes my teeth grind. XD; The music's really pretty, though.

Ah yes, you remembered a lot of the ones I was trying to think of. XD My Home is definitely romantic, judging from the wording of the last verse, but it's so much squee to think of it otherwise. X3

XD I totally agree about the lyrics in the first song! I can understand that people might feel that way immediately after a relationship ends, but then they've really got to work on moving on.

That's too bad that the mail's taking a day off tomorrow! ....Though I'd probably never notice myself, since I only check it about once a week. XD; And I dunno, I've always loved these little one-day holidays, because then it means either no work or no school! **dances.** That's always worth celebrating. >3 I've never actually done much for holidays like that, except enjoy the day off.

Sounds like Valentine's Day will be fun! X3 I went out to brunch with some friends today, which was really nice. And LOL, they were playing Lilo and Stitch on this giant projector screen at the restaurant! They didn't have the sound, though, and we were only half paying attention to it.... But my friends decided that they really wanted to watch it, and since I happened to own the movie, we came back to my place to watch it for real. X3 Not a really exciting holiday, but it was really nice. And I discovered that I have a chronic problem with organizing my YGO cards incorrectly. **headdesk.** What the heck. XD;

And now I'm off to work on my own artwork plans! >3

I can't even remember if the song is about a relationship ending. XD; I think, though, that it's more about a relationship that's working and the person's feelings for the other.

I always want the mail checked every day when I'm waiting for something important. And since I was home-schooled and whatnot, I was always pretty indifferent to the random minor holidays. XD But when they get in the way of my plans, then I get irritated at them.

Well, they're supposed to be organized by type (Fairy, Fiend, Warrior, etc.), and then alphabetically within that type. So, at one point, I somehow ended up sorting a set of Warrior cards into the set of Machine cards. XD; (No idea how that happened.) And then, for two other times when I was putting some cards into a binder, I put some sets in the wrong order... Only I didn't catch it until several pages later, so then I had to painstakingly remove everything I'd put in since then in order to do it correctly. XD; **headdesk.**

Exactly my problem with the song!

Heaven's gorgeous. *___* **has an AMV Favorited somewhere on YouTube that's Nephrite/Naru and the song.** But I think at one point the song fades into the background to have the voices heard in one scene, so probably not the best recommendation for a first listen. XD;

Oh, I'm sure I'd appreciate them more if I had a reason to. XD **points up to where she mentioned she'd probably be more interested if we actually did stuff.** Though we probably will do some semblance of celebration today.

Whoops. Ugh, that's so frustrating when you have to undo a bunch of other stuff to fix a mistake!

And I'm still annoyed that Angel cards are called Fairies in the English version....

Angels do sound so much nicer! And for a while, I was calling the Fiend cards Demons, since I was playing a computer game of YGO that was heavily based on the Japanese versions, and just got used to it. XD Have to say, though, the Angel/Fairy cards have some really gorgeous artwork. *__*

Though I should mention I do look forward to the minor holidays for one reason only: extra talking time with people, including you. ♥ But that's generally in the early part of the day, and in general, the rest of the day feels pretty much like any other day to me. XD

Hmm.... I think you should plan to do something different on the minor holidays, then, to make them a bit more special than a normal day! Like maybe take the time to do something you've been wanting to do for a while, but never got around to it, or do something you don't normally do.... Like baking cookies or something, maybe? XD

Hm, love songs... I actually can't think of any at the moment. LOL. "Blurry" by Puddle of Mudd was written in regards to the singer's son, and "Helena" to the singer's grandmother... I guess the closest I can think of is "Reset," by Ayaka Hirahara... played during the closing credits of Okami. LOL. Videogame-minded person. We'll just say that there's only one word for "love" in the English language and get away with all of these songs XD

Valentine's Day is of course completely overshadowed by my sister's birthday, which she doesn't like to make a big deal of XD Holiday strangeness ftw.

Aw, lame about the plushies! Always too late. Excuse me, however, for being amused at the "YAY PLU-- Oh yeah, President's Day. Psh." Would be nice if they arrived the very next day, though X3

And screw it, I like random days off as much as the next person. Or the previous person, in this case X3

Ha, yes, that's the one X3 I figured it was well known enough that I needn't mention the artist. My favorite part of the video is when the pallbearers carry the coffin to the beat of the drums. It's always the part I think of first.

Obviously it is no longer the day after President's Day, so I can only hope you have them both already X3 Princess Tutu is so far turning out to be a surprisingly tense anime.

And I get another day off after tomorrow :) Yay!
