What makes a strong female character? Well, people obviously disagree, but I was extremely spooked one time when someone somewhere made the comment that Buena Girl from Mucha Lucha is one such character, and a good role model. I can't stand that show, it's so freakin' crude, but I did try it a few times, sometimes out of boredom while waiting for YGO. Anyway, I really don't find any of the main characters likable, and I don't think Buena Girl is a good role model at all. XD; She's so self-righteous all the time, looking down on anyone who doesn't feel as strongly about masked wrestling as she does. And if I remember right, she's one of those characters who physically attacks other people over small and stupid things when she's upset. I have never found that appealing in a character, male or female. It's why I have such a low opinion of Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin, and of Amy Rose from Sonic X. Do people think that to be a strong character, a woman has to beat up male characters even when they don't deserve it? I think it's pathetic. It's one thing to be a good fighter, triumphing over people who obviously mean you harm, but it's quite another to go berserk when someone doesn't mean to do anything wrong.

Actually, that's not the only reason I dislike Amy, but it is a big one. XD; Another reason is because of her incessant swooning over Sonic. She's like a scary fangirl! And I'll never forget the time she tried to "rescue" him, but she wouldn't untie him and instead she dragged him up some stairs, causing him to hit his head on each one! .___. Pathetic, pathetic.... I know it was all played for laughs, it always is, but possessive idiots like Amy just scare and annoy me to no end. If I ever met someone like her in real life (and I have met some online), I'd want to get as far away from her as possible.

Anyway, back on topic. What makes a strong female character? They have to face their problems, they have to stand up for themselves, they have to stick to their beliefs, they have to recognize that they're not the greatest thing in the universe. . . . They can do all of that without resorting to losing their sanity just because someone innocently and inadventantly made a comment that they didn't like. For Heaven's sake, grow up! Reacting the way Kaoru and Amy tend to do is not only annoying and unnecessary, it's immature. And it makes me not have much (if any) respect for them. I honestly don't find it funny at all. XD; I keep thinking of the poor guys who aren't meaning to say anything wrong and then they're suddenly clobbered.

On another, less controversial subject, I'm bringing back one of my minor doppelganger characters: Aballach's secretary. Right now I'm trying to give her a Welsh name. I had selected Blodwyn (which means "white flower") and then I also wanted Glyn ("from the glen"), but in my head I keep calling her Bronwen, and I really don't want to name her that because it means "fair-breasted". .___.; Then there's Branwyn, which means "beautiful raven" (and that makes me think of Rue from Princess Tutu XD), but I don't want to name her that because I picture her with long and flowing white hair, like Kisara. Ravens, of course, are black. Of course, I guess her name could be Branwyn anyway, and Blodwyn is some sort of alias. XD

I've seen the first four episodes of Detective Conan, BTW, and I like it! I'm not too keen on the whole body-shrinking thing, but eh, since it only happened to him and a girl, and since it's science-related and has nothing to do with magic, I'll overlook it. XD (Well, not that I wouldn't overlook it if it was magic-related, but I'd probably frown on it even more, at any rate.) It's really nice to have an anime that doesn't have any magic, for a change. And the mysteries aren't kiddie stuff, either. Some of them are DARK! I mean, check out episode 3, with the music idol and the guy who was apparently murdered in her room. This is a very mature show, really. I think I'm going to be nuts about it. XD

I'd actually kinda prefer it if the Junior Detectives weren't around. ^^; Maybe they'll grow on me, but right now they seem like unnecessary baggage meant to lighten the show up. And I feel that Ran's father already lightens it up fine. XD More than that seems like overkill. Those kids don't really know what they're doing, and Conan ends up having to look out for all of them! It gets in the way of the mystery.

I'm anxious to see the new Superman movie. XD I read a couple of articles on it when I was at Borders and it seems like it'll be cool! I prefer Batman over Superman, really, since Batman has to catch crooks using his technology and his brains, as opposed to superpowers, but eh. XD I liked the first Superman movie, from the seventies, and wow, I think the new guy really looks a lot like Christopher Reeve's version!

I don't know why it is, but lately, for some reason, I've been even more opposed to magic powers than usual. It just doesn't impress me a whole lot, and I'm afraid it's probably starting to come out in the RPs I do. XD; (Baby Face, for instance, is getting highly frustrated at the thought of having to rely on people with magic powers to stop the doppelganger Mafia. Though, I do honestly think that's how he'd feel about it.) Lots of people go out of their way giving characters the most amazing and impossible powers there could be, but I'm more impressed if someone can solve a problem without needing to rely on magic. I liked this one episode of Winx Club that's on the tape Aubrie made for me, where they're in a realm without magic and they have to figure out how to get out of a life-or-death situation by using their smarts and skills alone. And I know I do have characters that use magic (Runihura, for instance), but on the other hand, while the doppelgangers have knowledge of magic, they don't use it too much. XD Well, some don't, anyway. **thinks of Apollo and his spells.** I've found that when I have a character who does use magic, if their name isn't Runihura, the extent of magic they will probably be able to do is simply to blast people.

... Maybe one reason why I don't care for magic too much is that sometimes it seems like if a character can use it, that's all they'll ever use to solve a problem and they'll never develop any other skills they might have. XD I'm glad that Yaminah has other fighting skills, such as using a sword.

Speaking of the tape Aubrie made for me, I found the episode that got cut off before the end because of the tape running out, and it looks like it's a Sonic X Valentine's episode where Amy is going nuts again trying to get Sonic to be hers, so I don't think I'll mind that it got cut off. LOL.

I also don't know why it is that I'm feeling so opinionated today. XD But eh.

Janime's Forum has been down all day. I hope that stupid hacker didn't get in again and ruin things!

In the meantime I went to the Balto Source forum and looked around a bit. I don't really like it there, though. I feel so out of place. Most people there don't like anime, and I was just in a topic where the person starting it had everything backwards. He thought anime was created mostly for humor while American shows were deep. X__x; Uh HELLO! Very rarely is that the case. It's usually the other way around. I admit, there's some wacky anime shows and some serious cartoons, but usually we get wacky cartoons and serious anime. I dislike most all American cartoons for that reason. I prefer a show that's more deep and that I can really get wrapped up in. I like something that makes me really think about life and people. Only a handful of American shows do that for me at all. It's fine if someone doesn't like anime, but at least they should TRY to get the facts straight. He probably compared one anime with one cartoon and thought that all anime was like the one he'd seen.

I feel out of place in the whole neighborhood, really. There's not really anyone around who's interested in anime. I've always been the odd one out in almost everything, and I accepted that ages ago, but I still wish sometimes that there was someone who lived close to me who likes what I like.

Heh.... Once I remember a girl at church reading over my shoulder as I was writing something down in my notebook for the My Immortal story. It was the part where Ishizu is hurt, and she tells Marik, "If I live, I will live, and if I die . . . I will die," and the girl commented on how dark/morbid that seemed. I can't remember what I said, if I said anything. I probably just shrugged it off. Boy, it's a good thing I wasn't writing Something the Boy Said or The Darkness Within at the time she was watching. XD; **only partially sarcastic here.** Then she really would have been creeped out. At the time, I believe I was thinking, "Yeah, I know it's dark/morbid, but guess what? Some things in life are, and I'm out to write about some of them." Not everything can be happy frolicking rabbits and pretty flowers, after all. Most good forms of entertainment do touch on death and other subjects. Even something sweet and nostalgic like My Neighbor Totoro has the girls worrying if their mother will be alright.

Hmmm. To relax, I'm going to type out some random dialogue that's been floating in my head for a while. I love this. XD Consider it part of that hypothermia scene I posted a while back.

What's in a name? )

Someone on eBay has been selling a new box set of the first season of Magic Knight Rayearth for $24.99 plus shipping and handling. It's about the size of a two disc set, but it has all five discs of the first season, plus a bonus disc! I bought a set and it came earlier. It's officially made by Anime Works too, so it's not a bootleg. I hope they've made one for Season 2 as well! **is anxious to start watching it.**

Oh yes, and I heard that Mucha Lucha has at last been cancelled after three long seasons. I'm really not sorry at all to see it go. I know there was clever humor in it, but I did not like the animation style at all and The Flea completely ruined any possible hope of me ever liking it. That little creature is so disgusting. o.o I think he also betrayed his friends in a couple of different episodes, too. I didn't really like the other main characters either. Rikochet seemed full of himself a lot and rather idiotic, and Buena Girl was so self-righteous. If people didn't follow The Code of Masked Wrestling to the letter, she got really vicious. I really don't like her and I don't think she's a good role model, even though she is a strong, determined girl. I'm willing to admit that she is. I just don't like her. Rikochet was the only one of the three that I even remotely liked.

I feel better now. XD; **likes to rant.**

Well, to start Friday off with . . . we had more mega plumbing trouble. XD Dang, I swear, the tree roots are getting into the pipes. So yeah. We all slept in quite late. XD Then it was a mad dash to get everything done!

My brother was having a birthday party in the evening, but Dad still needed to get a present for the new baby, and for my brother's wife, who also will be having a birthday right away. XD And he needed to get a computer program so he can recover his wandering files. Plus, we needed to buy the second fan for the car (which we still didn't get).

We went to CompUSA to get the computer program and I got to play Pokémon Leaf Green for about fifteen minutes or so! Wow, it was fun. It makes me wanna get a GameBoy Advance SP and buy that game for it. As well as certain other games, of course. Like Megaman and Bass, which I also saw there. X3 And probably some of the YGO games that are Battle City related. I still wish that they'd make a PC game where Marik is your opponent. With my luck it'd be the Yami instead, though. XD Oh yeah! And they had the PC version of the LOTR: ROTK game for only $9.99! O__O And yet I've seen it at other places recently for $49.99!

So after hopping all around like that, we got to the party almost two hours after it was scheduled to start. XD; Usually their activities start later than planned, though, and they go on for quite some time. So we hadn't really missed much. We hung out there and then went to look at my brother's house.

DANG! It's so awesome! ^O^! There's technically three floors, 'cause they have a walk-in attic that they're remodeling into a family room. ^___^ And in the basement they have a jacuzzi tub! ^O^ And their closet in the master bedroom actually has a light. =3 I can hardly wait to see their house again when it's all fixed up completely.

Then we went on to Wal-Mart, where we hung around for an hour. XD; My fault, mostly. I had too many things I needed to check. Turning me loose in Wal-Mart is a bad idea. ^__~ But! It paid off today. I found the Hot Wheels cars with Marik! ^O^! **IS HAPPY.** I also got a random pack of Labyrinth of Nightmare they had kicking around, because that series is supposed to have a lot of Marik's cards in it. **smile.** And I got some black face-paint stuff for when I make the marks under my eyes at Halloween. I wasn't able to do those last year, but I shall this time! I also found the ideal fabric: lavender fleece! SO SOFT! **huggles it.** I just need to see if I can get it for a cheaper price at a genuine fabric store.

Oh yeah, and I think I've determined that maybe Solitude isn't gonna be a possible song after all. XD; The chorus is good, but the verses don't seem to apply. **is listening to Exodus now.** This one might work. . . . I need two songs, because I'm writing a trilogy. ^___^

I submitted Breathe No More to the webmistress of Rockman-EXE.com. I do hope she likes it. . . . **clasps hands.**

And I'm so anxious for the Saturday morning stuff in a few hours! I hope the new season of Jackie Chan is good. >.> I dunno. That show's been going downhill a lot lately. I'm kinda iffy about the new season. I was surprised when they renewed it last year. There've been more plotholes and more stupid episodes lately.

**decides to post how she feels about each show on later on the WB.**

Mucha Lucha I couldn't care less about. XD; It's too full of bathroom humor and other things like that for my taste. --.--;;;

I'm looking forward to the new Teen Titans. ^___^

Xiao Lin Showdown I normally wouldn't care about, only I'm curious to know if the one kid ever rejoins the team and if he really did betray them for sure.

Pokémon Advanced Challenge should be kewl! And I'm anxious to see the two-parter with Misty. ^^

The Batman is eh... **shrugs.** Never been that into Batman. XD I'll probably try the show, though. I wonder if Robin will be in it?

Of course the big excitement is YGO! ^O^!! If not for YGO, I wouldn't even be up on Saturday mornings. XD The new season looks great! I've been really looking forward to the Dartz arc.

And finally, Da Boom Crew I also could care less about. XD And since I feel that way, plus I go back to bed when YGO is over, I won't be watching it or trying to record it to watch for later. ^__~

Devlin was killed by being pushed off the top of one. Heaven knows what he was doing up there. The gang is in a haunted amusement park.

..... And that is an RP, not a fic, if you were wondering XD And it's not finished yet. I hope the gal I was doing it with will be on this evening so we can do more with it! ^___^

Come to think of it, though, I did have a fic idea that involved a Ferris wheel. No one fell off in my fic idea. . . . Whoa, I got that idea way back in April and I haven't used it yet XD I'm sure I'll get around to it though ^___^

I'm so excited for the WB block today! ^^ Two new YuGiOhs again! YAY!! =3 And Sonic X!! And it'll be interesting to see what goes on with Pokémon Advanced. I like the new changes, but I hope that Misty will come back someday ^__~ I'm looking forward to Teen Titans and Jackie Chan too ^^

Yeah, I know Sonic X isn't on the WB, but I sure wish it was! I think Mucha Lucha belongs on the Fox Box because the programming there seems to lean more toward the disgusting than the WB's does. Sonic X should be on the WB instead ^o^ The WB let the Fox Box have Cubix, so why not Mucha Lucha? @@ That show is most definitely disgusting .__. No offense to anyone who likes it, but whoa. The Flea has some very revolting habits, especially his family's "secret move." EWWWW!!

I will admit that occassionally there's a cute episode (like the one where Buena Girl tries to put all her favorite toys away and not have any more to do with them when she really wants to keep having them around so badly), but usually that show is never up my alley. I don't like crude humor at all and I don't feel that shows need to rely on it. Why can't they be mature and have something NICE for their humor??! There isn't any need for crudeness.
