Well, earlier I completed the first exam for World History. Now, since I came back, I've been working on the second exam for Sociology. I've almost got it done. I just have to think of a bureaucracy and give three reasons based on book info to prove that it is one. That shouldn't be too hard.

On Wednesday we had to take stuff back to the library. This time, since I finally got my adult card registered with the city system, I got the Cowboy Bebop movie there and then found that volume one of Fullmetal Alchemist came in at the county system. I wasn't expecting it to be there already. The last time I checked, I was still third on the waiting list.

I watched approximately half of the Bebop movie yesterday morning. It was slightly odd to hear that one bad guy talking like Valon. XD Also, I realized that the Bandai Sunrise company seems to have a bad habit of putting more swearing into the English versions of animes than was there originally. **was watching the movie in English, but with the subtitles that went with the original version, in order to get both stories.** I wish they wouldn't do that. It's highly irritating. That's what they did with Gundam Wing, too. The problem is, I prefer the English cast for both those shows. XD They just sound wrong in Japanese.

I also broke down and decided to try to find the Saiyuki movie at Best Buy, because neither library system is getting anything related to that fandom. None of the Best Buys here seem to carry it, according to the computer. Blah. I wonder if Circuit City would have it. They're pretty much like Best Buy.

I realized that usually the shows I like to hear in Japanese are most of the magical girls shows (with the exception of Magic Knight Rayearth). The girls just sound a lot cuter in Japanese, and it suits the mood of the shows better. MKR isn't your typical magical girls show, though. They fight with robots that look like Gundams, and there's lots of blood. XD; I was really surprised when I was watching it and suddenly blood splattered everywhere. I was like, "I thought shoujo shows didn't have blood."

Saint Tail is really cute. XD I wanna see more of it so bad. And I want to get the rest of the mangas. Borders has stopped having them on the shelves, but I think I can still order them from their warehouse. It's really partially a romantic comedy, with the kid who's trying to catch the thief slowly falling in love with her, and vice versa. Saint Tail actually isn't a "magical" girl at all, since she uses illusions based on her dad's magic tricks and such. I'd like to know how she first got started being the Robin Hood-type thief, though. The series opens after her adventures are already well underway, so there's no tale of how it began, unless that's a flashback in a later episode.

Oh yes, I don't think I mentioned this, but last Saturday I finally bought The Cat Returns. Since the sale isn't on anymore, Fred Meyer's price of $19.99 was the cheapest I could find, so I decided to grab it up before it disappeared just like Grave of the Fireflies did. We were out looking for fans last week and happened to be uptown, so it was the perfect opportunity. (Wal-Mart was actually out of fans. @__@ We had to wait till Monday to get another one.)

And we saw this fascinating old movie called Paper Man. XD It was about these five college students who invented a fictitious person after mistakingly receiving a credit card made out in the name of the fictitious person. Then one by one they start dying mysteriously, and it looks like the computer they're using might be acting on its own to cause the problems. It was awesome, with a surprise twist at the end. I like it when movies lead you to believe one thing only to discover it's something else entirely. And it made me wonder: what would happen if someone reprogrammed Kaiba's supercomputer? o.o

Ugh. I love summer, but heat is not something I deal with well. The official high for Wednesday was 103 degrees Fahrenheit! And it's going to stay around the same for the next few days. Oh, what I'd give to have a properly working air conditioner. . . .

Dad's finally home. On Sunday he left to drive to California with some other family members to get to a funeral. Mom didn't feel up to going, and neither did I, especially with the arrival of cramps, so we stayed home. It was weird having Dad gone overnight for two nights. I was somewhat edgy as well, since we are prone to having prowler problems in the neighborhood. Blah. I wanna move.

I started my World History and Sociology courses. Interesting stuff. I think I'll be able to breeze through both courses fairly quickly.

**pokes the animated Raphael icon.** My first animated avatar. XD I'm so proud. I want to make one of Lafarga that says "Raphael Look-Alike." Seriously, he looks so much like him. They both have blonde hair, blue eyes, lots of muscles, and two earrings in their left ears. Lafarga seems to have some of the same personality traits, too, such as loyalty.

I've been working more on my war flashbacks fic again. I think I should cut back to the present right after this scene I'm doing now, which is when Alister is recovering from being shot. I don't want the flashbacks to simply drag on without a purpose, after all. And since the whole thing started after Valon got shot, it seems a good place to end it.

And ah yes, I've finally seen four episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist. I must say, it's rather bizarre. XD; Normally it wouldn't be my thing, but I love some of the characters and of course, the sibling cuteness. Muwahahaha.

I saw episodes 5, 6, 7, and 8. That includes Nina's terrible fate and Barry the Chopper. O__o;; I cannot stand Barry. XD; He annoys and creeps me out as much as Buggy does. **bemoans the fact that Buggy has returned to One Piece.** But I do love Ed, Al, Major Hughes, and Hawkeye. ^^ Not sure yet what I think of Roy, but I'll probably like him. Not sure about Winry yet, either. I'm told that she throws wrenches at Ed, and characters that throw things at other characters tend to annoy me. XD; When I first saw her in episode 8, she did somehow give off the impression of being one of those violent anime girls, so I wasn't too surprised to hear about her throwing wrenches. **laughs.**

I had to take stuff back to the library earlier, so I was able to pick up the next Saint Tail DVD and a Magic Knight Rayearth 2 DVD that I haven't seen for about a year. XD; I wanted to refresh my memory with that part of the arc.

We also had to do some shopping and get birthday presents for people, so we dropped in at Media Play and Wal-Mart. At the former, I browsed through the third volume of the first round of MKR manga and decided again that I prefer the anime version. XD; There's more character development, it stretches out longer instead of rushing by so quick, and Lafarga gets a bigger role, among other things. Of course, the anime version also gives us Nova, and for me she's one of the sweetest things about the whole fandom.

It's interesting. . . . I was thinking about it yesterday morning, and I realized that I think MKR has been the second biggest anime writing influence, right after YGO. It gets so philosophical, and I adore that, and then my stories get philosophical too. The Doom Arc is also that way. I think that's one major reason why it intrigues me so much (well, other than the bikers, of course). I've become more philosophical in general ever since I got into anime, and I'm quite pleased with that.

^^ I made an icon in honor of that fic idea. **pokes it.** See? XD It just was too good to pass up. It's not really me, though. But it's cute for Valon. Icons with Alister (like my default icon) are better suited to me.

I got a temporary paid account for two months, to kinda test it out and see if I like it. ^^ It only cost five dollars. Having more user icons is definitely a plus. I guess that's my favorite feature of the paid account. XD;

So let's see. . . . Last week, on Wednesday, I did get to get the Saint Tail DVD, as well as My Neightbor Totoro (on Aubrie's recommendation) and the only volume of Magic Knight Rayearth I hadn't seen, the sixth volume from the second season. I'll talk about them in a minute.

We got them on our way down to Lehi to get my aunt, because as I mentioned in a previous entry, we have been planning for months to take her on a nice drive through the small town of Salem that I've talked about before. Something always seemed to go wrong. First somebody would be sick, then the car would get sick, and on and on like that. XD; (And now the car's sick again! It can't seem to pass inspection!) Anyway, so this time we finally managed to go. It was really hot, but at least we went in the late afternoon, when it wasn't as boiling as when it's earlier in the day. We had a good drive, and found a house or two for sale that we'd like to look in once the car recovers.

So then later on when we were home, I watched Saint Tail. I decided to use the Japanese track. For most shows I like them in English, but others just seem to sound better in Japanese. Saint Tail is one of them. ^^ I really enjoyed the episodes, but I'm so used to the manga that I feel bad the anime altered some of the great manga moments. There's this hilarious part where Meimi knocks Asuka Jr out with a potion that Seira made. XD That wasn't in the anime, sadly. ;__; But I love it anyway! And Meimi has a pet hedgehog. How's that for unique?

The next couple of mornings I watched My Neighbor Totoro. Aubrie was definitely right about it. It's so cute! There's just something about it that's really nostalgic and magical. I adore it. Much better than a Disney film.

And of course, MKR was awesome, as always. Nova was devious and wicked, the little rascal. And yet, when you know her true motive and the reason why she had it in the first place, she really doesn't seem that terrible. She's really childlike, not understanding the true consequences of her actions and trusting Debonair, thinking of her as a mother. She's one of the most fascinating characters on the show.

I was horrified to hear about London this morning. I wasn't really surprised, with everything that's been going on, but it made me really sad when thinking about all the innocent people who were hurt or even killed. It makes me mad that people do things like that, not even caring who they're killing. They just want everybody to die, it seems.

I've been writing that fic that has lots of flashbacks to Alister's childhood, but I'm thinking that in light of what happened in London, maybe I should put it on hold for a little while. At the beginning of the year I came up with Alister's mother being on a bus that was attacked. I had a scene written that is the aftermath of that, but as soon as I heard about London I rushed to try to change it. The fic is supposed to be showing the horrors that happen in war and what happens to children such as Alister and Miruko, but still, I don't think I'll finish the fic for a little bit. I should work a bit on the chapter fics anyway.

One of the Saint Tail DVDs finally has come in at the library! Really, I've been waiting years to see that show. XD; Albertson's used to have the first two DVDs in their rental section, and for months I wanted to get them. When I turned 18 I tried to register so I could rent them, but the rental place had some dumb rules (such as that I had to show a telephone bill before I could register), so I wasn't able to do it. ><; The bills would be in Dad's name, after all, not mine. Ugh. Anyway, so then finally the library got the DVDs and I wondered if Albertson's had donated their copies, because I never see them there any more and the library has the same volumes. I put myself on the waiting lists and that was months ago, in April or so. I'm hoping that now one of them finally came in, we can go get it tonight, along with the other stuff that's on hold.

In the morning I rewatched a couple of the Magic Knight Rayearth episodes that I own. They were the final episodes of the series and it made me both want to write a sequel that picks up right where the anime left off, and to create Alexander for the YGO fandom. XD;

Alexander, like Nova, is a doppelganger, a shadow of one's heart. He resembles his "creator" immensely, but he has two wings similar to the Change of Heart card: an angel wing and a demon wing. I'm still trying to decide if his motives will be similar to Nova's. So that the readers will understand, I'll explain about her. Nova was created during an intense moment of self-hatred for Hikaru, when she was forced to kill Princess Emeraude. As a result, Nova says that she loves everything Hikaru hates and hates everything Hikaru loves. She is always trying to kill Umi and Fuu, and later goes after Lantis. But! Here's the kicker: She believes that she's doing what Hikaru wants, because she believes what Hikaru was wondering at the moment of Nova's creation: Do people have to die in order to be together forever? Nova is naive, actually, and innocent as a child, which makes her all the more dangerous (and tragic).

Okay, so, with that information in mind, this is what I've been musing on for Alexander: I think he probably does love his creator and hate everything else, and he may want to kill his creator's loved ones, but I don't know that I want him to have the same motive as Nova. Nova should only be the inspiration for the character, after all, and not the pattern for everything he does. I do have in mind when Alexander was created: The point when his creator was being forced against his will to attack and injure his best friends. This caused such immense self-hatred that unconsciously he made a shadow of his heart. As to why Alexander has the wings, they're mostly symbolic. He has bad plans, but his intentions are good. Which actually describes the creator very well during a certain part of his life. Wow. **just realized that.**

Possible motives for Alexander:

--Because his creator wondered if it was always his lot to kill his loved ones, Alexander had decided to spare him the burden and kill them himself. Then he'll kill the creator, too, because he knows that at the moment of his (Alexander's) birth, the creator wanted more than anything to die, rather than to hurt his loved ones.
--Something similar to Nova's motive, but I don't think that would exactly fit the situation.
--Alexander is not after the creator's loved ones, but only wishes to kill the creator, because of the reason stated above.

And who is Alexander's creator? Just think about the various forms of that name. XD I picked the name Alexander for a reason. **often ponders for ages on just the right name for a character.**

MUWAHAHAHA! FINALLY! I have a Saint Tail manga!! I've yet to see the anime, but now I've seen the manga. And it's great! It's very interesting to be reading a manga that has a certain Christian slant to it. I'm enjoying very much ^^

I also got the Lunarock CD out of the library. There's only 8 tracks on it, and four of them I already have, so I just saved the other four tracks to my computer so I can listen to them there ^^ I luv Moonlight Densetsu! And Ai no Senshi! And Who Do You Think You Are?! is hilarious XD The other one, Daddy's Girl, is sweet. It would still fit Jupiter if they'd just change a line or two. After all, we all know that her parents really are dead and she has the whole apartment to herself, so the line about being glad to have her own room doesn't make much sense XD Poor girl. I'm sure she'd be glad to be sharing a room with her parents, if only she could have them again.

Would you believe I finally got the next chapters of Paper Flowers and Back from the Grave up?! ^O^ I couldn't find the right song for Paper Flowers, but I prayed about it and almost instantly I was inspired to look at the lyrics for my Touched by an Angel album. I found the perfect song! You Were Loved, by Wynonna. It's so sweet and full of siblingish cuteness! I also found another song there for a later chapter, Believe in You. Can't remember the artist for that at this time XD

It's taken me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do with Back from the Grave, but at last I did ^^ I brought Rini back and revived Jedite from his eternal sleep. And Neflyte appeared to Molly to give her a warning. I love how it turned out!

It's amusing that there's so many different spellings for his name XD The original is Nephrite, but I never use that. Sometimes I use Nephlite, but in the fic I prefer Neflyte. There's also Nefrite, Nefryte, Neflite. . . . XD

I also did a poem, which I'm calling my Easter poem for a couple of reasons. It's the first time in ages I've tried writing rhyming poetry and it really actually came out sounding beautiful instead of silly!

And another poem I wrote (that doesn't have copyrighted characters in it, heh heh) has been accepted for a book of poetry! That's the second one to be! I'm so happy. I shall be published! XD! And millions of people will read my poems. I hope they can be touched and made to think. That's the effect I want my poems to have.

Hmmm. Well, this is the Easter weekend beginning. Today is Good Friday. I hope I can do something good over the weekend that will make Jesus happy ^^

And I hope RC's having fun on her vacation =3 And that she'll be back tomorrow XD Man, the both of us need laptops! Seto, give us some laptops!!

Seto: No.

Yugi
You love Yugi! With your innocent nature, and
hints of fun, you two are sure to hit it off.

The age-old question of Yu-Gi-Oh love
brought to you by Quizilla

Woohoo!! ^___^! Yugi's awesome! =3 I usually do get him on these romance tests XD Or Bakura. Once or twice I think I got Seto XD I remember once doing a Peter Pan and the Pirates "Which character is your perfect date" quiz and I was so excited 'cause I got Billy Jukes! Heh heh ^^

I finished the first part of my Family Ties saga. It's gonna be three parts. I just havta decide what that horrible birth father of Rishid's will try next. I figure each part must get more and more intense. So . . . hmm. . . . Suggestions are always welcome XD

I wanna find some more animés to watch. I know YuGiOh will always be my #1, but animés are like peanuts: You must have more! XD I'm thinking of trying one called Saint Tail. I've been intrigued by it ever since I saw the DVDs for sale at Albertson's. I also want to look at Cowboy Bebop because one of my buds is always praising it and telling me different kewl things about it and the characters. She's interested me enough to want to take a look ^^ Another friend has talked about Outlaw Star. I plan to investigate it as well ^__^

I finally got a couple of Archie's Weird Mysteries episodes taped to watch later. I'm gonna see them pretty quick. I luv the comics! ^__^! I can hardly wait to see the characters come to life on TV, even if they will be solving weird mysteries XD LOL. Any mysteries are good with me! Detective and mystery shows are always among my favorites.

There was some interesting dialogue in the new Sonic X episode. They were talking about Sonic around Knuckles and he got mad and that lady (is her name Topaz?) said that Knuckles must have an inferiority complex, which he promptly denied XD I never thought of his dislike of Sonic as possibly being because of an inferiority complex, but maybe that's so. It's definitely possible. After all, Sonic is always saving everyone and everything. Maybe Knuckles is upset 'cause he feels that he never gets to do anything important.

The Teen Titans show was also good. It was the one where Robin pretended to be a mercenary named Red X. One thing I adore about Teen Titans is that it has real depth. It's not just, Whee, the good guys are fighting a new baddie, they have trouble, they finally defeat him. The characters are all really unique and fun and they struggle with lots of real emotions: loneliness, anger, distrust. . . . It's an American cartoon, but it's really intelligent and well-written, unlike most of the others I've seen. I love that America is finally producing some good stuff again, unlike some of the brainless shows they were making a couple of years ago XD

The animation on Kim Possible often leaves something to be desired, but the storylines there are pretty good ^^ I've yet to see the depth that Teen Titans has, but it's still a fun, enjoyable show ^___^ Though it's true that a large portion of the shows I like right now are Japanese, I like many of the current American ones too ^^
