FMA Manga

I love the manga so far, but the anime definitely improved on the train incident. Hughes wasn't in that in the manga. ;__; **sniffle.** He was one of the best things about the episode. XD

Also, I don't know how accurate the translation was, but I winced at that guy using such colorful language. **smile.** And they didn't even have the part where he was telling Ed that they were alike because of their limbs. I love that part!

I did end up ordering the Saiyuki movie. **nod.** It should get here next week sometime. ^^

And I dearly do love Alexander. XD **pats him.** So cute.

**ponders.** I think in general, I like developing OCs better in RPs than in stories. OCs are generally only cared about by a handful of people, and in an RP they are generally among those who've seen them develope and who care about them, but put them in a story and it's hard to capture the same magic for lots of people. XD; I think that's why I'm having such trouble with Phantom of the Theatre. I know that people just won't care about Runihura's story the way Aubrie and I do.

Blah. XD;

Circuit City really has a generally poor selection. They put the anime stuff in with the sci-fi. Not all anime is sci-fi. -.-; Plus, it looks like their one checkout counter's computer is broken still (it broke in October when I was getting my Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack), as people were getting checked out at the Customer Service desk. I couldn't find the Saiyuki movie there (or Saiyuki anything), but they did have Grave of the Fireflies for only $14.99, and since I've been looking for that, too, I decided I'd better grab it. **shakes head.** Anyway, I think I won't be going to Circuit City much anymore. Best Buy, in general, is much better and seems more efficient/professional. You know, I noticed that they closed the other Circuit City, the one by Media Play. I wonder if they're close to going out of business. Maybe that would explain the strange way the other one is operating. ^^;

I'm going to try looking for the Saiyuki movie at some other stores when we (hopefully) go out later today, but if I can't find it, I've really been considering getting one of the Double Barrel sets with two DVDs. Those are cheaper than the general price of one DVD. XD I think three of those sets are out right now, so that would be the first six DVDs. I'm leaning toward getting the second set, but I guess we'll see what happens.

And I finally picked something to submit to H-Jun's and Spirit Summoner's Doom fic contest. I decided, after much pondering and changing of my mind, that I would send them The Darkness Within. I consider it my best biker fic so far and I am highly proud of it. I just had to alter Miruko's name to Mikey in the copy I sent over, since they don't like mixing the Japanese and American names. ^^;

I finally got the rest of the first FMA DVD watched. XD **sniffle.** Episode 3 is so sad! And episode 4 really was, too. The guy was so obsessed with the young, picture-perfect Karin he remembered that he could not grasp the fact that she had gotten older. He died insisting that she couldn't be Karin. And we didn't find out what Karin was going to do after that happened. ;__; And that Cornello. . . . Such a greedy little jerk. I have to admit, I didn't feel too sorry for him when Gluttony got hungry. XD; Not sure what I think of Rose yet. Poor girl.

When I was at Media Play I looked at the second FMA manga. I found a scene with Envy. Dang, he is so vain. XD Terribly amusing. I think I may like him, just because he will probably amuse me. But he's so meaaan. **flicks him.**

I also found some various anime to investigate. The Sprague library actually had Gundam Wing Operation 1, even though the computer says there aren't any copies in the system. I've only seen the first episode on that DVD, so I got it and something to do with Sakura Wars (not sure whether it's the movie or some of the TV show). It looks rather interesting. ^^ Almost like a Gundam show with females as the pilots. XD Then I got the first volume of The Twelve Kingdoms at the county system and found that something was on hold at the library that's by our house, so we got that on our way home. It's a SuperS volume that I'm fairly certain I never was able to get my hands on before. XD I must admit, though, that I'm not entirely sure if it is. The episode titles sound familiar, but that could just be because I've looked the listing for it over many times while trying to get a copy. Oh well. I'll find out soon enough whether I've seen those episodes.

And I must say, Hellsing has some awesome music.

Ugh. I love summer, but heat is not something I deal with well. The official high for Wednesday was 103 degrees Fahrenheit! And it's going to stay around the same for the next few days. Oh, what I'd give to have a properly working air conditioner. . . .

Dad's finally home. On Sunday he left to drive to California with some other family members to get to a funeral. Mom didn't feel up to going, and neither did I, especially with the arrival of cramps, so we stayed home. It was weird having Dad gone overnight for two nights. I was somewhat edgy as well, since we are prone to having prowler problems in the neighborhood. Blah. I wanna move.

I started my World History and Sociology courses. Interesting stuff. I think I'll be able to breeze through both courses fairly quickly.

**pokes the animated Raphael icon.** My first animated avatar. XD I'm so proud. I want to make one of Lafarga that says "Raphael Look-Alike." Seriously, he looks so much like him. They both have blonde hair, blue eyes, lots of muscles, and two earrings in their left ears. Lafarga seems to have some of the same personality traits, too, such as loyalty.

I've been working more on my war flashbacks fic again. I think I should cut back to the present right after this scene I'm doing now, which is when Alister is recovering from being shot. I don't want the flashbacks to simply drag on without a purpose, after all. And since the whole thing started after Valon got shot, it seems a good place to end it.

And ah yes, I've finally seen four episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist. I must say, it's rather bizarre. XD; Normally it wouldn't be my thing, but I love some of the characters and of course, the sibling cuteness. Muwahahaha.

I saw episodes 5, 6, 7, and 8. That includes Nina's terrible fate and Barry the Chopper. O__o;; I cannot stand Barry. XD; He annoys and creeps me out as much as Buggy does. **bemoans the fact that Buggy has returned to One Piece.** But I do love Ed, Al, Major Hughes, and Hawkeye. ^^ Not sure yet what I think of Roy, but I'll probably like him. Not sure about Winry yet, either. I'm told that she throws wrenches at Ed, and characters that throw things at other characters tend to annoy me. XD; When I first saw her in episode 8, she did somehow give off the impression of being one of those violent anime girls, so I wasn't too surprised to hear about her throwing wrenches. **laughs.**

I had to take stuff back to the library earlier, so I was able to pick up the next Saint Tail DVD and a Magic Knight Rayearth 2 DVD that I haven't seen for about a year. XD; I wanted to refresh my memory with that part of the arc.

We also had to do some shopping and get birthday presents for people, so we dropped in at Media Play and Wal-Mart. At the former, I browsed through the third volume of the first round of MKR manga and decided again that I prefer the anime version. XD; There's more character development, it stretches out longer instead of rushing by so quick, and Lafarga gets a bigger role, among other things. Of course, the anime version also gives us Nova, and for me she's one of the sweetest things about the whole fandom.

It's interesting. . . . I was thinking about it yesterday morning, and I realized that I think MKR has been the second biggest anime writing influence, right after YGO. It gets so philosophical, and I adore that, and then my stories get philosophical too. The Doom Arc is also that way. I think that's one major reason why it intrigues me so much (well, other than the bikers, of course). I've become more philosophical in general ever since I got into anime, and I'm quite pleased with that.
