So several months ago Kaze told me about an upcoming magical girl/superhero show called Miraculous Ladybug. Naturally she thought of me, since ladybugs are my mascots, and she thought I'd be interested.

I definitely was, and I've been waiting for it to come out. I was hoping it would stream on CrunchyRoll. But things have been so hectic around here (and I was so occupied re-watching Carmen) that I didn't get around to checking on the show's status until yesterday. CrunchyRoll doesn't have it, I don't think, and the U.S. dub doesn't begin for about a week and a half, so I'm not late for that, yay. Yesterday, when I thought to look, I found a few fan-subbed episodes on YouTube. If I'd been more on the ball, I could have watched each episode as it came, sigh. We have 13 now, I believe. There will be 26 for the first season and I hope they'll get renewed for more.

I've watched all the ones I can, which is about six. A seventh has the subs falling off the video, so I decided I'd better just wait for the English dub of that one. I plan to watch all the episodes in English as they come out (provided I can get Nickelodeon's website to cooperate; I assume they'll show each new episode there). I just hope the dub is good.

The show is so cute! There's a definite innocence and sweetness about it. While it uses many magical girl cliches, it also feels fresh and new.

Things I especially like:

- The characters all seem to dress very modestly. It's so nice not to see all the girls running around in midriff shirts like on Winx Club! They act more like kids instead of trying to grow up too soon and wearing revealing clothing.

- Instead of destroying the evil spirits possessing the characters and making them act out, Ladybug catches them and purifies them. They're little butterflies corrupted by the Big Bad, which then in turn corrupt the chosen victim of the day. It's really nice to see the butterflies caught and helped instead of being destroyed for possessing the people.

- Ladybug in her civilian identity has a really sweet friendship with another girl. Yay, friendship squee! And her friend is awesome; I totally love her.

- It rather amuses me that the main boy, who turns into Black Cat, oddly resembles Schrodinger from Hellsing in his wild blond hairstyle and cat ears headband. I don't really care much for the character now that Hellsing is out in full, but I am still amused.

(Truthfully, I never really liked Schrodinger that much.... I tried to like him because of being told that in some ways he was like an OC of mine, but the parallels were pretty slim overall. Then when more of the series came out and I didn't like how he was turning out, I felt too awkward to say I didn't really like him anymore after all. I think I was worried that my friend wouldn't like my reason, especially since she did like what they were doing with the character. Maybe she wouldn't have liked my reason for not liking him or maybe on the other hand I was worrying unnecessarily, but eh. I can definitely relate to that Steven Universe episode where he feels too shy/worried/awkward to tell Connie that he really likes how a book series turned out when Connie didn't like it and was ranting about it.)

- As much as I love Japanese culture, I kind of find it exciting to get a Western culture magical girl show, since I can understand and relate to that better. This one is set in Paris. The only other Western culture magical girl shows I can think of are Winx Club (which takes place on other planets for the most part, so it doesn't really feel like it counts) and W.I.T.C.H. (which I've never tried). Of course, Princess Tutu takes place in Germany, despite being made in Japan. And if we think about the superhero genre, then there's Wonder Woman and others. Amusing how I've never really thought of them as magical girls before, but technically, Wonder Woman was probably the beginning of the entire genre.

The Big Bad seems rather cartoonish, but since this is a magical girl show, I do sort of wonder if he'll get some depth later on.

I feel a little bad to be so enthusiastic about the series, though, as for months I've been trying to watch an anime that another friend recommended and over the past few months, I've advanced as far in it as I did in this show in less than 24 hours. I'm not quite sure what that says about the anime and/or me. But she did say the plot picks up right around where I am, so maybe I'll get more interested in it too.

I wonder if the problem is partially that while the anime is at a fillery spot, it's short and is supposed to have an intense overarching plot and I'm anxious to get going with unraveling the mysteries of that and not have the filler. But Miraculous Ladybug probably just is self-contained with each episode, so I don't expect anything more than that from it. They don't even have an "origin" episode as the first one, so things so far don't need to be watched in order. As much as I love arcs, I do kind of like being able to jump in anywhere with this show.

(I should note that I still love Sailor Moon filler episodes, though. I wonder if it's that I'm more invested in those characters than I am in this other anime, even though I like them.... With Sailor Moon, I guess I feel like it's similar with Miraculous Ladybug in that I expect filler from it. Plus there's a ton of episodes and somehow that makes filler seem more bearable than if it's a short anime, if that makes any sense.)

Or maybe it's just that Miraculous Ladybug is more the type of show I need right now: something light and cute without a darker plot looming somewhere, and something I can relate to better since it's the present-day. I really love this cute show and I'm so glad Kaze found out about it. I don't know if I would have learned about it otherwise.

I saw this turn up in a search result once, but I didn't watch it before. This time I did, and laughed almost all the way through it. XD; Hellsing combined with a bright and cheerful song about zombies. It's just so wrong and so amusing!

(For those not big on Hellsing, don't worry, it doesn't get too graphic. XD)

Yay! X3

I love this Schrödinger icon Aubrie made for me. X3 So pretty! I am very pleased with his OVA animation design! One of these days, I *need* to finish that fic I started. Not to mention the Hellsing/Mayberry crossover. XD

And Lisa found out a way around FF.net's upload problem. People have been able to export their old stories and chapters, then copy and paste the contents of the new stories and chapters, and from there, get them posted normally. So I tried that and it finally worked!

I'm finally working on chapter 6 of T&D again, too. Now I'm doing a scene about Kadaj and Loz preaching about Jenova, as witnessed through the eyes of the town's mayor. XD It will probably end with him being brainwashed to follow their movement.

I need to work on chapter 7 of the KH fic too. Plus, start work on the follow-up to Reflections. And ... finish that S&M blurb. XD;

And write another blurb that was an angsty role-play, involving Yami Marik and KH Seph battling, and Yami M has put up Cloud and Zack as the stakes. Cloud is Seph's shield and Zack is Yami M's. So to win and get out of the mess, Zack has to be attacked, probably fatally. ;__; Zack encourages it, of course, wanting Seph and Cloud to go free. But Seph can't stand being forced to attack him. And of course, Cloud hates Seph for it.

**cuddles the FF7 and KH plushies at Setsuna's website.** X3

Yay!

http://www.ADVfilms.com is having another anime sale, through Halloween. If anyone wants to cash in on more deals like they had at Labor Day, now's the time! ^^ And they finally sent Saiyuki #9, which was on backorder. **pets it.**

And the Ishtars come back in the episode today. X3 That's going to be so great! Shadi's supposed to be back, too. Gotta love the mystery man.

I finished that picture of Musketeer and Alucard. Side7's still down, so I put it on Photobucket. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v212/Marik4Me/beourguest.jpg You can see a piece of Alucard's real hair peeking out. She looks so perky. XD And I imagine them to be singing the last part of the song, when it gets a lot faster.

I love writing for Siegfried, I really do. XD Yesterday morning I wrote some stuff where he and Joey clashed and it was great. I guess Siegfried appeals to my mischievous side, because he's usually being a wiseguy and telling people off in an amusing way. I love how he's so smooth and calm. Then Alister appeals to my serious side, Valon to my playful side, and Raphael to my loyal side. And none of them seem to care what anyone thinks of them; they all just go through life being themselves, though they do tend to at least try to hide their vulnerable sides. I like to think that I am myself, without any facades. What you see is what you get. XD; Though I don't like appearing vulnerable and won't, if I can help it.

Alexander's story, whenever I get to it, will probably be a multi-chapter fic. I don't think I could deliver his tale to the best of its ability if I squeezed it into a one-shot. Before I started writing The Darkness Within, I briefly considered having it be a one-shot. I'm glad I didn't go that route. ^^;

Meantime, however, I need to figure out what to do with Duke in LATT. I was plotting with Stacey and came up with a basic plan, but now I need to fill in the details. I also need to decide when to have the first battle in Candy Clouds. Perhaps it should just be starting at the end of chapter 5 and then go on into chapter 6.
ladybug_archive: (alister_notgay)
On Saturday night I was able to receive my daily fright due to someone's colorbar. **laugh.** It read as follows: "Herr Siegfried is a pink-haired, German sex machine." Errr ... okay. Nice to see you have your mind in the gutter, madam. XD; Siegfried's little fun with throwing his rose to the audience in episode #186 makes me think he's not above flirting at times, but that's a far cry from being a "sex machine." .__.; Seriously, he's probably a virgin. He's too busy obsessing over making his company better than KaibaCorp to bother with jumping in bed with people.

I loved the YGO episode! =3 I know the dub altered some things here and there, but I couldn't see as how they changed too much, and it really didn't bother me anyway. And it sounded like Ted Lewis is still doing Bakura and Yami B, even though it didn't sound like him in that preview I saw before. Yay for Ted Lewis! ^^ Aubrie put up the Japanese raw version, both in a downloadable size by itself and also in three segments, but I'm having trouble getting MegaUpload to cooperate with me. It keeps freezing during the 45 second wait. And if it does get through it, it sticks an ad over the button I need to click, and there's no way to get rid of it. -__-; (Yes, I've looked for something to use to close out the ad window.) I'm afraid all that leaves me with a bad impression of the site.

http://www.setsunakou.com has a whole bunch of YGO dolls now! It's so awesome. XD I wish they weren't so expensive, but maybe for custom-made dolls, they're actually a decent price. I wouldn't know, as I don't often go shopping for custom-made dolls. ^^; They have some strange pairings, including BakuraXRebecca and the dreaded SetoXSerenity, but I just try to ignore them and concentrate on how awesome the dolls look. ^^ Hey, they even have a doll of Rishid! They have most of the main characters right now, except for Yami B, Yami M, Solomon, Cecelia, and some more of the anime-only characters (Doom bikers, Dartz, and the von Schroiders). And they've made Marik, Tristan, Miho, Yugi, Vivian, Mokuba, and Pegasus dolls, but the links aren't up for them yet. ^^; But go see the ones they do have! Pretty much whoever I didn't mention here they have working links for.

I wrote a bit more for my story with Seras and Schrodinger (whoops, started typing Schroider there), and had Alucard come and talk to Seras. Now I must figure out how to resolve a plot problem that I've been musing over for several weeks. How on earth am I going to get Schrodinger into the Hellsing Institute? XD; Alucard and Integral aren't going to want him in there, and Seras won't want to go against them, but she also doesn't want to just leave Schrodinger bleeding on the battlefield. ^^;

Oh yeah, and thanks to a lady I saw at church, I now know how to draw Alister with realistic hair! LOL. Since Side7's not working right now, I'll put it here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v212/Marik4Me/alister_realistichair.jpg Now I need to figure out how to do the same with Valon. I want to keep the star-shaped formation while giving it a more real look. Is that even possible? XD;

EDIT: I need to figure out where SchroiderCorp is located. What's a large German city that has mountainous areas nearby? I doubt Siegfried would want to travel too far to get to the company building.

And I have Eyes on repeat. It really reminds me of him, for some reason. XD; Maybe because he and Leonhard appear in the final ending sequence, when they're playing Eyes in the background? I was surprised when I read the translation and found that it only added to me associating it with him, after the events of the Grand Prix.

Candy Clouds is back in business! (I hope.) Chapter 3 is revised and posted. Now I just need to go over what I have written of chapter 4 and then finish it. XD And then continue from there.

And I just love the forum RP that I'm involved with. We started a masquerade ball topic and it's just great. It's light and fun while not being stupid. Everyone seems to be in character, and it's lots of fun trying to guess who's who. Yugi was just exposed, and I was surprised. Serenity and Joey have also been revealed, but I figured out long ago who they were, because of the hints that people dropped. The bikers haven't appeared, because I can't imagine them going to a masquerade. XD; But some other characters I play dropped in. One of them got mischievous and conspired with what ever character is playing Jack Sparrow in order to scare people during some ghost stories. **smirk.** I think most people have figured out who he is by now, but he still hasn't officially stated his identity. He is masquerading as a musketeer.

There's an interesting new member in the Hellsing club I'm in. He/she wrote a couple of essays, one on Iscariot and one on Hellsing. Well, thanks to the detailed info about Enrico Maxwell from later manga volumes, I no longer like him. XD I also don't like the author's view on Alucard, though. He/she seems to find him rather uninteresting and just brands him as being completely bad. Now, of course we know that he has monstrous tendancies, but that's not all he is. Heck, he's one of the most intriguing and deep characters in the thing. Eh, I think pretty much everyone is a lot deeper than they may appear.

Heh. . . . This song I've got on repeat certainly brings back memories. I still enjoy the All Dogs Go to Heaven fandom, and Killer was always my favorite. ^^ It's him and Itchy singing this song. XD It was from an episode of the TV show that focused on them. It's amusing how there's lots of jokes and references in this song that kids likely wouldn't get. A lot of American shows do that, I think, in order to attract older viewers as well.

EDIT: Get it while it's still good. XD (The link lasts a week.) http://s4.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0ZRLEPA9KBWUI0DP2YWQ9NC8XI Deceiver of Fools, courtesy of Stacey's Mother Earth album! =3 **pets song.**

Also, does anyone else notice how the animators can't decide how long Siegfried's hair should be? XD; **has been looking at screengrabs from the last YGO episode.** In them, where he and Leonhard are talking to Pegasus, his hair comes down his back, but stops short of his hips. It does that during the Grand Prix, too, but in other scenes it goes down about another foot or so (at least eight inches more). **giggles.** The first time we saw him, when he got out of the bathtub, it was the latter, so that's how I always draw it and picture it.

And now. I need sleep, as evidenced by my giggling fits. XD

I do believe I'm starting to cramp. I figured it would be happening around this time, but I had really hoped it could hold off for a bit. I hate it when it happens on the weekend. Then it means I'm in agony on Saturday morning. I suppose I can be grateful that the worst of it will be over by Monday.

I did finally type something for Alister again. XD; I don't want his journal to die. It's fun, writing a journal for one of the most underappreciated yet fascinating, complex, and wonderful characters on YGO.

That Doom poster is on eBay right now, and for a good price, too. I think I just may have to snap one up. wwwanimestuffstorecom has a really awesome selection of anime products. I've bought CDs from her about three times now, I think. The prices are always reasonable.

Media Play sold that Alucard wallscroll. XD Not that I would have considered getting it. I was just curious. Now they have some cool T-shirts of Cowboy Bebop and Rurouni Kenshin. I may consider getting one.

I honestly have not known much of anything to ask for for my birthday. Most of what I want is online, and Dad doesn't do much online shopping. But it wouldn't be practical to ask for books, because I already have so many around that I need to read once I get my school done. Most DVDs I prefer buying myself. And most of the music I like is foreign. XD; I did think of a few things to ask for that can be found around locally, but eh. ^^;

Blah, I wish there'd be more cool YGO merchandise released. There hasn't been much around for a while. There are those interesting figure sets each with Yami Yugi, Seto, or Marik, accompanied by their respective God monster, but I already have the Marik figure, and my versions of the Yami Y and Seto figures are better than the ones that come with the God monsters. XD;
ladybug_archive: (Default)
XD I loved the episodes on Saturday, as usual. The best line was Joey's "I got knocked out of the tournament by a guy with pink hair!" He wailed it as if it was the worst thing that could possibly happen. Is it just me, or has Joey been really tense and on edge during the Grand Prix? He seemed to easily freak out during both of his duels, and I don't remember him acting like that before. I heard that in the original Japanese, Siegfried called Joey a clown a lot during their duel. Well, frankly, Joey has been acting like he deserves the title. **laughs.** He seriously needs to chill.

Leonhard has a very unique deck. ^^ Of course I knew about it before seeing the episode, but still it's nothing compared to seeing it in action. I think both of the Von Schraider brothers must be very comfortable with their sexuality. XD

I hate the original opening I wrote last week for my fic with Seras and Schrodinger. ^^; I just dashed it off really fast because I wanted to get a basic idea of how it started, but it looks horrible. I rewrote it completely earlier in my notebook and recently got done typing it up. It looks so much better now. The original scene had her finding him randomly in the water in a forest area. The revised version places them on a battlefield, at the end of a battle between Hellsing and Millennium.

I do wonder if it's plausible for Schro to be wounded, though. XD; But he seems to be a huge mystery. If we're deciding that he can be in two places at once and that's how he survived what happened in manga #4, then maybe if he was not in two places at once, he could really be injured? Anyway, that's what I'm theorizing here. I assume that there's really no "wrong" answer for this, since no one else seems to know, either. ^^;

**contemplates displaying the blurb.** I suppose it couldn't hurt. . . .

Battlefield Meeting )

I've finally seen some of the Hellsing anime now. ^^ I really like it, but the manga is tops. And Alucard's dub voice just doesn't suit him. I got attached to the Japanese voice just from the clips Aubrie sent me. XD; It just sounds so right for him. I watched the first episode in English and the other two in Japanese. I like Seras's and Integra's dub voices. I'm glad that for the OVA, they're bringing back Alucard's and Integra's Japanese voices!

. . . Dang, is it Integra or Integral? -.- It seems like both are correct.

I've also been writing an odd blurb where Siegfried is found strangled to death in the Kaiba Dome and Seto is the prime suspect. XD; It's just a random thing that I was thinking of on Saturday morning, and it will probably take place completely in the Kaiba Dome. I'm toying with the idea of some of Seto's employees being responsible. Of course, I'm not planning to keep the poor man dead. **smiles.** But whether he's dead or not, someone still tried to kill him. I don't think I'll bring him back until after the culprit is caught, however.

Here's what I have so far:

Who killed Von Schraider? )
ladybug_archive: (Default)
Blaaah. First the phone rang, then Dad didn't want to stop doing what he was doing on the Internet on the other computer. We need to figure out how to both be on at the same time. All in all, I was offline for fifteen minutes short of two hours.

At least I was able to write more of chapter 9 of LATT. I'm doing a scene with the Von Schraiders right now, and I like how it's coming out. Then I'm going to do a scene with Vivalene, and then I'll switch to the bikers. ^^

Trigun is one of the strangest animes I have ever seen. XD; I got a DVD from the library last week because I decided what the heck, I'd try it out. The first episode was one of the stupidest things I've ever watched. **laughs.** But I liked the second episode. Vash is amusing. ^^ I like Meryl, too, but Milly is such an airhead. I just hope there aren't a lot of cheesy character designs like the green mohawk guy from the first episode. That reminds me a little too much of One Piece. Not that One Piece isn't great, but seriously, you know some of their character designs are outrageously cheesy. You know it!

I'm pretty sure we're going out tomorrow. . . . I need to pick up the Hellsing anime DVD that I finally ordered from the library. **smirks.** I've just become so very fond of the manga, but I want to see the anime too. **just hopes Dad won't see the anime cover and have a conniption because of all the sharp teeth.** XD; I hope it won't take too long for us to get the OVAs in America after they start being released. I wonder how much stuff one 35 minute episode will be able to cover. Two manga episodes, maybe, if they're taken directly from the manga without adding in filler? **is rather anxious to see the Millennium stuff animated, and well, Schrodinger, of course.** It's cool that they're starting over from the beginning, though. ^^ Maybe some of the episodes will be done better than they were done originally.

List seven of your favorite songs of the moment in your journal and force seven other people to repeat this process.

1. Kleid aus Rosen -- Subway to Sally
2. Brothers from Fullmetal Alchemist
3. My Immortal -- Evanescence
4. End of All Hope -- Nightwish
5. Starfire -- Dragonforce
6. Somewhere -- Within Temptation
7. Dartz's Theme from Yu-Gi-Oh!

Seven people. . . . Hmm. Can't remember who all tagged who. XD; **tries to sort out who's left.**

*Whoops, SK already did it before. ^^; Hehe.... Integral_sama07

Why in Heaven's name are the Valentine brothers so popular? **sweatdrop.** Oy. Luke is such an arrogant fool who vastly underestimated his opponent, and Jan is a vulgar, vile little **falls to incoherent mumblings.** Of course, Jan is the most popular too. -__- I wonder what that says about our society.

I also don't get why even The Major has fans. XD; He's completely sick. Honestly, the only one in Millennium I like at all is Schrodinger. I wish he'd get out of it, but I know that's highly unlikely, since he's probably been in it all his life and has been raised with its teachings and such. He seems to like The Major too, and I guess maybe that's The Major's only redeeming quality, that he treats Schrodinger well.

Aubrie has created two wonderful new communities, including one that shall affiliate with Children of Eve: Cards and Roses, the Grand Prix club! Muwahahaha. X3 Then there's Life is a Highway, which is for music and anime lovers. ^^ She's hoping for some more new members, so if anyone reading this is interested, you're all definitely welcome!

And now I bring you a present tense blurb. Lisa likes to write in the present tense, so I decided to try it out. I don't plan to actually write fics in the present tense, unless they're in first person, but it was an interesting experience. Be warned, the blurb is sad and dark. But then again, this is me we're talking about. XD; Why wouldn't it be sad and dark?

I think I like German rock. XD **pets the song that she's again got on repeat.** I'm already starting to pick up the phrases to sing along.

I showed the lyrics to Darcy earlier and she had fun translating them. ^^ Then I asked her about the pronounciation of "Leonhard" and she said it's probably like you'd pronounce "Leonard", but then she said that it's probably not that "Len-ard" pronounciation and instead is "Le-on-ard" or even "Lé-on-ard," with the first syllable being pronounced like the first syllable of Téa's name. She said the last pronounciation is the most likely. ^^ I hope that's correct, because that sounds so pretty. I always hated the "Len-ard" pronounciation, but I love the others. Ten to one the dub uses "Len-ard," though.

I worked a bit more on my Hellsing/Mayberry crossover. I like the conversation I wrote in between Alucard and Seras as they arrive. XD And now I've switched to a scene where Integral is pondering over the strange case and wondering if Iscariot is going to get involved. Mayberry will never be the same!

This week seemed to go by pretty quickly. ^^ I'm glad of that. Now Saturday is finally almost here! Fox's new season starts this weekend, and of course we get two new YGOs. X3

I don't think I'll be here on Saturday evening, unless I come on after, perhaps, ten my time. Dad has some free tickets to a classical music concert and I'll be going with him to that. I'd tell whose music they're playing, but I can't remember how to spell their names. XD;

EDIT: I finished reading volume 3 of Hellsing and now I'm almost done with volume 4. Schuldinger's kinda a cute little guy. XD; Those kitty ears look so soft and velvety. . . . That seemed kinda mean for them to shoot him in that one part. o.o He wasn't doing anything, and he's just a kid. Or at least, he physical looks like one. ^^; **figures looks are no guarantee of age.** What happens to him in later volumes, I wonder. . . .

YGO manga!

**puurrs.** Look at the purty icon Aubrie made! =3 The German lyrics are from a song, and it translates to "Master, Master, give me roses." XD She says she always thinks of Siegfried now when she hears the song.

**flops over.** I am so tired. -.-; I haven't been getting much sleep of late.

I had to take the stuff back to the library earlier. Along the way we stopped at Barnes & Noble so that I could look for Alucard's alias in volume 3 of the manga, because I didn't want to have to search through the online manga translation for it. However, B&N didn't have any Hellsing manga at all. .__. I was rather stunned. XD; I did find the last Duelist Kingdom volume of YGO, however, and I bought that. I'm getting slightly more interested in the manga now that we're approaching Battle City. XD; I'll probably be collecting it regularly now.

I dunno, though . . . the manga never has had the appeal for me that the anime does. I thought it seemed kinda farfetched in this one that Pegasus broke down and told Yami Y about how he got the Eye, when their duel was done. The anime version seemed more plausible, where Pegasus was mentally broken and left the room. Then when the others chased after him, they found the diary in the tower and Téa read it. I just don't see Pegasus telling Yami Y all his deepest secrets. And his grand plan to bring back his wife failed. Why shouldn't he be broken, as he was in the anime? Plus, Pegasus is funnier in the anime. XD; His best lines are mostly there.

And the whole thing with Bandit Keith was just weird. Penalty games are based on illusions, right? What he saw must have been an illusion, hence, is he really dead in the manga? If he's dead, the only explanation that's logical is that because he believed he saw a gun, his body reacted as if there was a gun, and he actually did die because he fully believed that he had been shot in the head. You know, that's the way Jin-E from Rurouni Kenshin played his mind tricks.

Viz did a whacked out translation with Mokuba. What the heck is up with him going "Kaiba"?! He would say "Seto." Oy. That just looks so wrong that I feel like whiting out him saying "Kaiba" and replacing it with "Seto." **smile.**

I did enjoy the scene where everybody was crammed into the helicopter. XD That was great. I wish the anime had done that. Seto looked so irritated! I also liked where Seto saw his younger self and the doppelganger led him out of the dungeon cell.

It's hard to really explain why I don't like the manga as much. When I write stuff down, it just doesn't look right. XD; I just know that I prefer the way the anime handled things, for the most part. Maybe it's just because it's ingrained so deeply in my mind, or maybe it's because in the anime, I see new scenes with my favorite characters (and no, I'm not just referring to the anime-only characters). Some of it may be that the manga's too gory, but I know that isn't it all the time.

Speaking of gory . . . I oddly enjoyed the page where Yami B was licking the Millennium Eye. XD; Good opportunity for Pegasus hurt/comfort.... Takahashi-sama, if I remember right, said that Pegasus might as well be dead because he was no longer needed in the story, but he didn't come out and flatly say that indeed, Pegasus was dead. Of course he isn't, in the anime. But there's no concrete proof that he's dead in the manga, either. For my part, I'll probably say that he's not dead there, either.

And for the last week or so, I've been pondering over an interesting idea. Alexander said that he's always existed. What if Alister met him when Alister was a child? I wrote this scene of their meeting. I know it leaves a lot of loose ends, but I plan to tie those up. Perhaps Alexander has no memory of this meeting now, just as Alister does not. But as you can see, Alexander was not greatly different then as compared to now.

http://4kids.tv/shows/videoplayer.php?preview=backtoduel Look what Stacey found! A preview for Pharaoh's Memories! X3 It looks so AWESOME! ... But I think Bakura and Yami B have a new VA. o.o Listen for yourselves and tell me what you think.

I am so psyched up for YGO, as always. Pharaoh's Memories arc is going to be great! And this Saturday we get two new episodes and Joey starts his next duel in the second one. I am highly anxious for that, because of his opponent! **smiles.**

Oh yeah, and http://www.yu-jyo.net now has the summary for #186 up, along with several screengrabs of what was cut out of the English version. XD I have to admit, I rather enjoyed them. **smirk.** And if anyone goes to look, notice the maid's expression in the one pic. Does she look irritated or what? **wonders if she doesn't like Siegfried.**

I went curiously looking for Hellsing figures on eBay. When I saw what the packaging looks like, I suddenly realized that I've seen those in Media Play before. XD I distinctly remember going, "Hellsing? What the heck is that? Why is the packaging shaped like a coffin?!"

Yaaaay.

Boy, this week has really dragged on forever. It seemed like two weeks instead of one.

I actually finished my Von Schraider fic, though! **flops over the keyboard.** As usual, it took all evening to do the final proofread. ^^; That probably has something to do with the fact that I was talking to a lot of people. There were seven at once, at one point. If anyone wants to read, it's http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2565343/1/ It's a lot more words than I thought it would be. XD; Wow. I tried to keep him as IC as possible, but judging from the end of the Grand Prix and his actions then, I think he might have changed somewhat, at least to realize that what he did, and especially involving his brother, was foolish. **nod.** He's still arrogant and vain at times, though. **laughs.** He wouldn't be Siegfried if he wasn't. And I didn't focus on his eccentricities much. I decided to leave those alone. ^^; He does have a rose occassionally, though.

The morning was great! I loved the YGO episodes, though I was disappointed that they didn't focus more on Leonhard's duel. I would have rather seen more of his duel than Joey's. XD; And Weevil and Rex have become such clichéd comedy relief since Doom Arc. I hate what the writers did to them, really.

Oh yeah! And The Batman was awesome. XD Joker kidnapped Yin and Hugo Strange hooked up a machine that would allow him to astral-project into Joker's mind to find out where she is. Bruce Wayne has a prototype of the machine, so he hooks it up, gets the frequency, and goes in as well (as The Batman, of course). It was a wild ride. XD; My favorite Batman episodes usually have Joker in them. The best line from this one was right after Batman entered Joker's mind. There were Jokers everywhere in his version of Gotham, and even the moon looked like him. LOL. The Moon-Joker cried, "Yegads! A Batman in my belfrey!" XD

I really love what they get away with on that show. This episode was really psychological and dark, and they even allowed there to be images of skulls!

I watched the Megaman episode I recorded from last week. Wow. It was so great. And sad, too. I love this Dark Protoman saga. And Annetta is a cute character. ^^ I like her a lot.

The Shaman King finale was rather disappointing. I was expecting more from it. I guess the major action happened in the episodes previous. And I think they cut some stuff. **had been looking forward to hearing the kid who follows Hao around talk after the battle's end, but it didn't happen.** Jessi-Chi saw the original episode and said he talked in it.

After I watched the second YGO episode, I recorded Megaman while finishing up the last Sociology exam. (I can't believe they asked me what I think should be done about the homeless. Ugh. I feel so unqualified to try to answer that!) Then I watched a clip or two from the second YGO episode the previous week. ^^; I love that one. Now if I could just remember to email Eric Stuart about Siegfried's voice actor, for Heaven's sake....

I want a Hellsing shirt! I went to Japanimation.com, but now they don't have the one with the Alucard silhouette anymore. XD; I really liked that one. I think *maybe* I could get away with the Alucard and Seras shirt. ^^ I don't think Dad would like pentagrams, nor Alucard baring his fangs, as I mentioned before. But the shirt with Alucard and Seras is cute. ^^ I love the kind of father/daughter relationship they seem to have.

I had to go to the library to take back the Monk DVDs. 11 other people have them on hold. I just barely was able to finish watching the last episode on disc 2 before we had to go. I ordered the second half of season 1, so hopefully that will come in soon.

I also went uptown looking for some accessories that would be useful for my proposed Alucard costume (and possibly a good black choker just because I like them). Claire's is now closed, apparently. It used to be in the mall across the street from the one we were in, then it moved to Crossroads, and now it's closed again. **wonders if it moved back where it was originally.** Oy.

There's a Hot Topic on the second floor of the mall. I actually wasn't too impressed with it. I dunno if all the branches are like this, but this one was blaring heavy metal music in my ear, there weren't any chokers, and it seemed to be a punk store. XD And there weren't as many anime shirts as I'd hoped for, though there were some cool Rurouni Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop ones. Didn't see any Hellsing ones. I'd kinda like to get the Hellsing shirt with the red silhouette of Alucard. That one looks awesome. (It's probably the only one I could get away with, anyway. I'm pretty sure Dad wouldn't take kindly to a shirt with Alucard smirking insanely and clearly displaying his vampyre fangs. **laughs.** He'd probably have a conniption if he saw that wallscroll that Media Play has.)

I found one red tie that's a possibility, but actually, I'd rather get a long red scarf and tie it in a bow to get that nice, drooping effect. There weren't any red scarfs there either, except one with black lace, and while it was cool, that wouldn't do for Alucard.

And it seems to be a slow night. I had wanted to continue the RP with Aubrie before late night, but it looks like that's not going to happen, since she's still not back from wherever she went. Lizzie has been the only one on, and we talked for a bit about how Otakon went. I also tried to talk about my Alucard costume, but I don't think she got what I was trying to say. XD; She must have been really tired.

Blah. Well, I need to go have a shower. And why do I have the nagging feeling that I'm forgetting to write about something. . . .

Chances are, I'll remember what it was as soon as I post this or log off. -.-; I did finally post chapter eight of POTT (which turned out to be mostly Aubrie's writings), and chapter six of LATT. Duke made an appearance in his Orichalcos-possessed state. And Alexander is appearing in chapter seven, in a dream Alister has. I also have to work out more of the Hellsing/The Andy Griffith Show crossover. I was telling Mom some ideas for it the other day. The fact that Alucard can walk around in the daylight will definitely help matters. I wonder if he's the only one who can do that.

... UGH! The phone keeps ringing! I am getting so annoyed with this. Why oh why can't my Internet be hooked up to the second line that hardly anyone calls on?

I have got to go to bed. XD Look at the demented things going on in my mind!

Crossover of DOOM )

The above blurb is subject to change by being rewritten/reconstructed, but it's definitely going to happen. XD Somehow the fic of Doom will come to pass! Aren't you all cowering in fear by now? **evil smirk.**

Aubrie recommended the show Monk to me, so I put the first episodes on hold. That's what we picked up on Friday, instead of Twelve Kingdoms like I thought. Earlier I watched the first mystery, which seemed to consist of two episodes. Wow, it was great. XD I just love it. I think I even prefer it over Diagnosis Murder, and that's saying something. It just feels really fresh and new and different.

Also, I'm terribly amused over an idea I got late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, when I really stopped to notice my long black wig again. I really doubt that I could ever find what I need to pull this off, but I just have the strongest, scariest urge to attempt an Alucard cosplay. XD I think I have the explanation, though (other than the fact that he's just simply cool and so're his clothes). I think the idea appeals to me because he's my polar opposite and because dressing up as him would probably disturb a lot of people. ^^; I kinda like to show that I dare to be different. And I like teasing people too. Muwahaha. Plus, now that I have the idea, I'd kinda like to see if there's any way I could possibly pull it off. This is how I got two years ago when I first decided I'd like to try cosplaying as Marik.

Well, thanks to Netscape and my computer being pains, I must start this entry again. This time I am typing it in Wordpad and will copy and paste. If something happens to it before then, I will decide that my topic is jinxed and that for some reason, it's not supposed to be posted.

I watched the rest of the Sakura Wars OVA on Saturday morning during a time when there were reruns on that I wasn't interested in watching. I'm not sure what I think of it. The animation was gorgeous, the music is something I must find, and the characters had potential, as did the plot, but there wasn't enough done with it. It wasn't taken to its full potential at all, and it left a lot to be desired. There were too many timeskips in order to get to things that they thought were the best for the plot, but it seemed too hurried. It's not the kind of story that makes a good OVA. It should have been a TV show. There were so many unanswered questions, such as the details about Kanna wanting revenge for something that happened to her father. Who was she angry at? Did she succeed in her attempts? She left in part 2 and we didn't see her again for a while. When we next did see her, no mention at all was made of what had transpired with her in her absence. Plus, it seemed like one of the girls only existed to have lab accidents. It became a running joke for there to be explosions no matter what she was working on.

And let's see . . . what else was odd. . . . Well, it seemed like they concentrated more on the angle of the girls performing rather than the girls fighting the demons that had invaded Tokyo. Their superiors claimed that the girls being on stage acting helped them to develope control over their psychic powers and spirit energies, though I fail to see the connection. Also, part 4 seemed to focus almost entirely on them doing a play and then needing to postpone it while they went to help their new commander fight. The whole thing didn't even have a resolution; the demons were still at large and we were left to assume that things would continue in the vein that they had been going.

The characters weren't developed as much as they should have been. The obnoxious brat didn't show any redeeming qualities for the entire four episodes. The poor lab scientist didn't get any developement, either. Actually, the only one who seemed to change at all was Sakura herself. She became confident and bold, whereas before she had been shy and quiet. But there were more characters than just Sakura, darnit. I wanted to see all of them develope!

You know, Sakura Wars was lacking so much when it shouldn't have. I almost feel like writing a version of it myself, to tell it the way it should have been told. The problem was, they tried to cram too much into just four episodes. The lack of character and plot development were the biggest disappointments, especially with such beautiful animation. It started out rather slowly in the first two episodes, the same way they might begin a normal TV series. Then it speeded up even worse in the last two episodes.

... The best line was spoken by the commander in part 4, when he found that he needed to help care for about twenty crying babies: "I think I'm going to cry now, too!" XD I love that.

All in all, it's not something I'd recommend. I wonder if possibly there was a TV show version or if this OVA was all there was.

I want a big floppy red hat! They're so purty. X3 I sketched out that picture of Alucard and NegaDuck encountering each other, and they're both like, "That's MY hat!" I drew Alucard from memory, though, so I probably didn't get him too well. **will print a picture and compare.** I do love how soft-looking I made his hair, though. XD;

Also, I find myself getting a bit more interested in the Megaman fandom again. That's probably due to the intense plot on Axess currently. I've been waiting for ages for them to start the episodes where Protoman is corrupted! They started that saga a few weeks back and I've been loving it. The show's gotten so much darker since then, and I hear it shall get more so. And we'll learn more about Chaud's past! I'm so excited. Chaud is great. He's the Seto Kaiba of the Megaman.EXE fandom.

I had a vague dream about Chaud and Protoman on Saturday, so now I want to write a story about them that focuses on their struggles during Axess. Chaud has many different names, though, and I will probably mix and match to get the one I like best. I never liked "Blaze" as his last name, as it is in the English anime. In the English version of the games, it's "Eugene Chaud." I definitely like "Chaud" better as the last name, but I'm not sure what I think of "Eugene." His Japanese name is Enzan something. I can't remember the durn last name! Anyway, I was briefly considering calling him "Enzan Chaud" in whatever fic I may write. Those are my two favorites of his names.

I also read over the story I did for the classic Megaman fandom (where they're robots): Something to Fight For. Not to be vain, but wow, I really like how I wrote that one. I need to see if I can pick up the threads of the sequel again. I got lost somewhere in the third chapter or so, uncertain of where to take it from there, but I remember how much I was enjoying writing it.

That reminds me of the short one-shot I want to write about Goku's thoughts at the end of Requiem. I definitely do not think he was looking so sad because he wanted breakfast, as he told Gojyo. **laughs.** SK gave me some cool info about Goku and about a past fight that the Sanzo-ikkou had with a previous enemy, so I think I should be able to write the drabble. Goku doesn't seem like a hard character to write for. ^^;

Blurb

XD; I really had a giggle fit an hour or so ago. I read detailed summaries of the Hellsing episodes and a couple of uncompleted fanfics with the AlucardXIntegra pairing, and then Aubrie and I talked about it for a bit. Eventually we wandered into the randomness of Alucard at a business meeting and Seto coming in as Alucard was drinking people's blood. Then Aubrie mentioned that she might have dreams of Seto and Alucard having business meetings, and that really set me off. XD; Good thing I didn't wake anyone up. ^^; I really must go to bed, though. I know I need to when I start laughing at everything.

I had really wanted to finish the blurb I was writing, though, so I calmed down and worked on it. I started it a week or so ago, but hadn't done anything more, and since the urge came on me now, I decided I should grab the opportunity. I really like how this came out, but it's so sad. **sniffle.**

Losing a father )

We might be going out later. I need to pick up what's on hold at the county library (which is probably one of the Twelve Kingdoms volumes I ordered). ^^;

You scored as alternative. You're partially respected for being an individual in a conformist world yet others take you as a radical. You have no place in society because you choose not to belong there - you're the luckiest of them all, even if your parents are completely ashamed of you. Just don't take drugs ok?

Yay. XD

As Stacey said, Happy Birthday Elora "Ra-Chan"! ^^

Wow. My American Literature class is highly interesting. It really pushes me to do my best and to think hard, which the World Literature did not, and the exams are more of a challenge. The textbook has pretty color pictures and is organized in a much better way that seems friendly and welcoming. Also, it has juicy pointers throughout that talk about elements in stories and characters and such, which is all very fascinating and good for a writer.

And we watched Rebel Without a Cause on Monday. I had already thought I might be interested in it, but wow. Just wow. It was absolutely awesome. It was so much better than I had even thought it would be, and I could relate to many of the feelings of the main characters. It seemed to be directed more to people my age, so it seemed more "real" than movies that are all about adults and such. And it was definitely sad at the end, but it's the kind of movie that's really trying to put over a point, and sometimes to do it effectively, there has to be sadness. But just, Wow. That was a great movie. I can understand now why it made the list of the 100 Best Movies.

I finally finished the picture of Dartz with Ironheart, Chris, Sky, and Alexander. XD I like how it came out! Alexander looks adorable. http://www.side7.com/cgi-bin/S7SDB/Display.pl?act=image&iid=318667

... And I absolutely love Track 14 of the Requiem album. I believe it's my favorite one. It's played during the flashbacks when Sanzo and Goku are talking to Dougan in the airplane room, and on into when Dougan does his "Now I'm just like Sha Gojyo, etc." thing. Dougan is definitely a disturbing and creepy character, but it's really sad about him too, as I wrote about before. The poor thing let his obsession with being Sanzo's companion drive him into madness (though he may very well have had some screws loose before that).

**cuddles Alister.** I definitely do not think he is the "weakest" of the Doom bikers. I don't even think that's a fair question to begin with. Everybody's strong in their own ways and weak in others. And if we're using the fact that Alister can be mentally unstable as a factor, that's not fair either. His insanity was probably caused largely by the Orichalcos. Even when Alister wasn't actually using its card, its influence was probably still seeping into his mind, since Dartz has to infuse his soldiers with the power. And where one is weak, another is strong, and vice versa. That's how people help each other through hard times.

Aubrie is making me very fond of Alucard, and I haven't even read/watched Hellsing. XD; He is reminding me strongly of Runihura now, which is probably one reason for the fondness. Also, he just looks COOL. I love his hat. I've loved big floppy red hats like that ever since NegaDuck wore one. NegaDuck was also cool, though sadly, perhaps a bit one-dimensional.

I was wondering earlier why the show is called Hellsing, and I wondered if it had something to do with Gabriel Van Hellsing, that guy from stories who battles strange creatures such as vampyres and werewolves. Aubrie may have told me the reason, but alas, I must have forgotten if she did.
