Look at the purty icon! X3 **strokes it.** Aubrie made this one.

Finally my computer has recognized the modem! I was certain that the problem was actually inside the computer and that it had jostled the modem temporarily out of place, and it seems I was right. ^^ **pets computer for finally behaving!** So at last I am online in the new home.

I have half my room fixed now. We took my bunk beds apart and I'm using one while the other will be for all my plushies. I have yet to set up the second one. It was supposed to go in the corner, but I think I'd have more room if I put it where my CD and DVD bookcase is right now. XD; Blaaah. I know I shouldn't have set things up on it, but I wanted so badly to get something in order and to see how my CDs would look on a shelf.

My computer is on a desk under the window. It's not the same thing I used at the old house, and my monitor, hard drive, and keyboard barely fit. XD; Well, the mouse too, and I don't have room for a mousepad. The speakers sit on top of the hard drive, and my headphones rest in one of the desk drawers when I'm not using them. I commandeered Grandma's old phone to use (my grandma on my mom's side, not the one who just died), and it's up there too. I'm still trying to sort out where the printer will go.

Our house is on the next block over from the city cemetery. XD On Thursday I took a walk around the block and crossed to the cemetery to walk through it. It's a really quiet, serene place. Stacey, you're going to love it! ^^ You can even see some tombstones from the kitchen window, the deck, and the back bedroom. XD;

It felt really good to take that walk, too. I wouldn't have felt safe enough to do that in the old neighborhood.

And I have taken possession of the old TV, DVD player, and VCR, and set them on the rolling table that my manga used to be on. ^^ There's another working VCR that can be used in the living room, and we got a new TV and DVD player for there. It's a lot of fun to just sit on the end of my bed and use the headphone jack in the TV to watch stuff. I've been watching a lot of Monkees episodes like that.

And speaking of The Monkees, here's part of my essay. Right now it's mostly comparing differences in Micky's character in the two seasons, with a bit of a mention of Peter.

We stayed up all night trying to pack things, and we still didn't get it all done. XD; I finally had to lay down for a bit, and when I woke up the second time, my brother was here and he was helping get more stuff packed. Now it's evening and we're still not done. We'll be staying here again tonight. ^^;

It does make me feel relieved that YGO isn't on this Saturday, especially since the TV was packed up today, but I still want to get to watch the other shows. TMNT had a really awesome and intense episode last week where Karai officially became the next Shredder and it looked like all the Turtles and Splinter ended up dead. The one exception was Leonardo, who is still in Japan, training with The Ancient One. The latter had a vision about disaster striking, though, so Leo is on his way home.

I should try to work a bit on my Monkees plotbunny. XD It's rather disjointed at the moment, but it involves them helping some of their neighbors move and then inadvertantly discovering that they're connected somehow with Baby Face Morales (the mobster who looks like Micky). I wrote a scene last week where Micky runs into trouble after encountering the gangster a second time, and I've had the plotbunny of the Monkees either helping someone move or having a garage sale for a while now. I just recently figured out how to connect the ideas into one story.

It looks like this will be the last night spent in this house where there's some sense of normalicy. My brother's coming over tomorrow and helping us move out the big stuff, so it's going to be a big and busy day. I'll try to get the computer set up as soon as possible, as well as the TV/VCR/DVD player. XD I'll put up the computer before I do anything else in my room.

And I must say, I adore The Devil and Peter Tork! Doing a Faust-type episode was a stroke of brilliance, and the Monkees pulled it off without going OOC. I think that episode had just the right amount of drama to keep the show IC, and I love the part where they call the Devil to the witness stand and Davy asks him to raise his right hand and lay his left hand on the Bible. The Devil's response? "You must be joking." Maybe I'll watch it again tonight. XD

The best season 2 episodes seem to be the ones that were left over from season 1. The Devil and Peter Tork is one of those, and there's nine others, I think. The Monkees Blow Their Minds is another, and It's a Nice Place to Visit, which, BTW, was another stroke of Monkee brilliance. XD They got in trouble in Mexico because Davy fell in love with a local bandit's girlfriend, so the bandits kidnapped him and the other three Monkees disguised themselves as bandits to come rescue him. Then, after their ruse was discovered, the lead bandit challenged Micky to a duel. LOL.

... I think the way you can tell if a season 2 episode is left over from season 1 is that Micky's hair will be wavyish and fluffy instead of curly. XD

I finally finished chapter 10 of Candy Clouds. I'm very proud of it. ^^ Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on chapter 11 before too long. Getting everything moved in will take a lot of time, though I do plan to find time to talk to people. ^^ And I need to find out the dimensions of my Doom poster so I can frame it. XD I also bought a B&W Monkees picture off eBay to hang up.

Probably won't be on later. We need to finish taking care of the new house so that we can finish packing and get outta here. XD; We're rushing because we need to get this house fixed up after we move and try to hurry and sell it before we have double payments.

Dad bought some huge 30-gallon plastic bags and I've been using them to put my plushies in. I'm just about done now, and the only ones remaining are a few that I've left out until the day we actually move out there. My YGO plushes are among those, but I'm not planning to put them in a bag like that at all. They'll be separate from the others. Since they're homemade, and fashioned in the Japanese UFO style, I'm extra-protective of them and I don't want them in a situation where they could end up badly jostled and such. XD;

Another of the plushies remaining is a Calico kitty that my aunt gave me for Christmas. ^^ I still can't decide on a name for her. XD; I've been debating on Jillian/Gillian, Scully, and Scarlet, for some unknown reason. I've been addressing the cat by all three of those names.

And I found that this 3-foot doll I have is losing her hair. .__.; Literally. It's falling out in chunks, but it looks like the roots are still in the scalp. I'm so confused. Maybe it's because she's been leaning on a wall that has the cold garage on the other side? At any rate, I'm sure my other old dolls don't have this problem. I'm rather ticked about it, though, and I know Mom won't be happy either. She loves my dolls and stuffed animals about as much as I do. XD I've been checking doll repair websites and trying to find out how much it would cost to reroot the hair, but I can't find any price estimates at all. -.-; For right now I tied a handkerchief on her head to try to keep the hair there while I try to figure out what to do.

Over the weekend I've been plotting more with my doppelgangers. I love them so much! Now I've been pondering over the Council's assassin Apollo and his twin sister Veleda. They both have raven hair, though Apollo's is straight and probably about to his shoulders while Veleda's is long and flowing and slightly wavy. Veleda is on the Doppelganger Senate and has whitish-blue feathered wings, and she's against the Council, which has set her at odds with her brother. Apollo, BTW, has one white wing and one black wing, both feathered. I imagine Apollo is the sort of rebel bishounen that fangirls usually coo over. XD; I'm trying to further develope his character and figure out why he's in support of the Council. I'll probably come up with something before too long.

I don't think I've ever been as excited about my OCs as I am about these doppelgangers. They really feel like something that's mine that I can freely develope and someday write original fiction about. And since doppelgangers are a phenomena that is usually ignored in favor of other supernatural creatures, there's not really anything that I have to conform to. All I have to do, really, is bring in the angle of doppelgangers causing chaos and mayhem and appearing to their charges shortly before the charges' deaths. And that angle is already covered where the bad doppelgangers are concerned.

My Monkee boxsets came on Friday, along with the Headquarters album I ordered from Best Buy. ^^ I think that's probably their best album. You can really hear in the songs how much fun they were having then.

I watched several season 1 episodes on early Saturday morning, and then later on I watched some of season 2, and my opinion that season 1 is superior was enforced all the more. XD; Season 2 just doesn't have the same magic and fun, in general. I still love The Monkees Blow Their Minds, though, and by the way, I discovered that the Screen Gems version cut out about five minutes of the episode! .___. I have to get to work further revising my novelization with those other minutes of footage.

These are the episodes I watched:

--Episode #25: Alias Micky Dolenz (Classic! Absolutely classic! And a Micky-centric episode. XD I was in Heaven. **purrs.**)
--Episode #28: Monkees On the Line (More brilliance. Not quite as good as I expected from the summary, but nearly! The scenes with the bed in the wall were great. XD And I loved Mike and Micky trying to find the girl who was threatening to commit suicide.)
--Episode #31: Monkees at the Movies (My least favorite of these three, but still a good Monkees romp. But I don't think they focused enough on Davy and on how stardom was going to his head.)
--Episode #57: The Monkees Blow Their Minds (As always, my favorite, and even more so now that I've seen the missing scenes.)
--Episode #49: The Monkees Watch Their Feet (Bizarre. XD The narrator was priceless, and the plotline was promising. I can tell Micky had fun playing his robot clone, but I think there should have also been scenes with the real Micky being interrogated. The way it was, I think the Micky character got gypped and upstaged by his clone! Also, it just wasn't the same with Mike only at the beginning.)
--Episode #4... I forgot. XD; But it was The Christmas Show. It was okay, and cute, but not as good as it could have been. And I think the boy's fantasy sequence lasted too long.
--Episode #41: The Card-Carrying Red Shoes (Another Mike-less episode, so it felt like something was gravely missing. But there were still funny scenes, and Chicken Lake was hilarious. XD Overall, though, it wasn't the Monkees' best spy episode. That honor belongs to episodes #5 and #26.)
--Episode #43: A Coffin Too Frequent (This was one of the first episodes I watched, but I hadn't been able to get it recorded, so I haven't seen it for six years. I loved it then and it's still a lot of fun now, though I find I like it a bit less this time around. I kinda wonder if I originally remembered it so sweetly because it was the first Monkees episode I saw with hurt/comfort (Micky got knocked out when the lady hit him with her umbrella). XD; Knowing me, it's highly possible.)

And now I must flee. XD I'm going to watch the angsty The Devil and Peter Tork.

Oh wow!

http://photobucket.com/albums/v142/PDUTogepi/Capsule/ There is a new YGO filler arc, animated by the artists who did the Pyramid of Light movie and apparently taking place between Battle City and Pharaoh's Memories (wide time range, I know). It's called Capsule Monsters, so I assume it has something to do with the game. I'm terribly excited at the prospect of new YGO with the original characters. ^^ Right now it's airing in Ireland, and it has the U.S. dub cast. I wonder if/when we'll get it here?

And The Case of the Missing Monkee is absolutely hilarious. XD That's another priceless Monkees gem. Ladyamberjo knows how to pick good episodes! I'm going to show that one to Mom. I always show her my favorite episodes. She's getting hooked on the show Monk, too.

Mom and I have been emptying a huge box of all its junk so that we can use it for packing. I am such a pack rat. XD; I have saved just about everything, including boxes from plushies. Oy. So I cut the back panels off of my favorite boxes and shall throw the rest away. We certainly don't have room to be dragging stuff like that with us. The house is wonderfully big compared to this one, but we need all the space it has in order to have stuff that we actually use/need/want.

Yay!

I finished chapter 12 of LATT, and I revealed the truth behind Duke's odd behavior. I love Alexander's cameo appearance at the beginning. ^^ Also, I got a kick out of a line I gave Tristan where he was talking about Dartz.

I also quickly ran off a sketch of Siegfried and colored it. I gave him the light blue suit design I was thinking of. XD And since Side7 is still down, I decided to try LJ's new Scrapbook system to post it. http://pics.livejournal.com/insaneladybug/pic/000017d8

DSM and I are plotting to do a one on one RP! That's gonna be fun. X3 She's got some ideas to tell me in the evening, and I'm thinking of using the Doom Reborn angle so I can introduce her to Alexander.

And LOL, the other day in the Halloween RP I'm doing with Aubrie, Yami B decided to TP the game shop. Yami Yugi saw him and leaned out the window to yell at him, and then he got bopped with a flying roll. XD I want to illustrate that. Also, Mina thought that Siegfried reminded her of a flirtatious merchant she knew from the past. That was highly amusing. And it reminds me of an idea I was toying with for when we do the business meeting of DOOOM.

We ended up not going out yesterday, as it seemed that the people leasing the house claimed to have the flu. Our realtor thinks that they're just stalling. -.- Mom wondered if they were trying to get the money to buy the house themselves.

Blaaah. First the phone rang, then Dad didn't want to stop doing what he was doing on the Internet on the other computer. We need to figure out how to both be on at the same time. All in all, I was offline for fifteen minutes short of two hours.

At least I was able to write more of chapter 9 of LATT. I'm doing a scene with the Von Schraiders right now, and I like how it's coming out. Then I'm going to do a scene with Vivalene, and then I'll switch to the bikers. ^^

Trigun is one of the strangest animes I have ever seen. XD; I got a DVD from the library last week because I decided what the heck, I'd try it out. The first episode was one of the stupidest things I've ever watched. **laughs.** But I liked the second episode. Vash is amusing. ^^ I like Meryl, too, but Milly is such an airhead. I just hope there aren't a lot of cheesy character designs like the green mohawk guy from the first episode. That reminds me a little too much of One Piece. Not that One Piece isn't great, but seriously, you know some of their character designs are outrageously cheesy. You know it!

I'm pretty sure we're going out tomorrow. . . . I need to pick up the Hellsing anime DVD that I finally ordered from the library. **smirks.** I've just become so very fond of the manga, but I want to see the anime too. **just hopes Dad won't see the anime cover and have a conniption because of all the sharp teeth.** XD; I hope it won't take too long for us to get the OVAs in America after they start being released. I wonder how much stuff one 35 minute episode will be able to cover. Two manga episodes, maybe, if they're taken directly from the manga without adding in filler? **is rather anxious to see the Millennium stuff animated, and well, Schrodinger, of course.** It's cool that they're starting over from the beginning, though. ^^ Maybe some of the episodes will be done better than they were done originally.
